If he would have continued or ran home he would be alive today. He chose to try to make a name for himself and impress his girlfriend and died for it.
Actually, Zimmerman was the adult in this encounter, and if there was anyone trying to make a name for himself, it was Zimmerman. Zimmerman called the cops, Zimmerman ignored dispatch, and Zimmerman decided to start and escalate the confrontation.
That leads us to the obvious question: Who was George Zimmerman trying to impress?

Yes I'm serious, show me where someone has called George Zimmerman a hero. I'm not saying it didn't happen, I just haven't seen it and I know I haven't done it.
You're right, GZ has spent tons of cash and has lived in fear because someone attacked him and ended up dead. There are no winners here but there is victory and truth, we're seeing an example of it right now in that court room.
Victory does not necessarily mean there is Truth in the victory.
