Good thing the minimum wage doesnt keep pace with inflation and we continue to bust unions.

Well if wages kept up with the cost of living we wouldn't have a need for food stamps! Try feeding a family on Minimun wage!

I trend one trick pony on government spending.

Given the aging population, Medicare costs will crush the system.

No way out of it other than reforming Medicare and increasing taxes.

Reform includes increasing eligibility age ( unless Medicare morphs into national healthcare), means testing and giving Medicare the authority to negotiate the price of prescription medications and medical equipment. It may even include " death with dignity" , specifically allowing doctors to prescribe medication to requesting patients with late state fatal illnesses so that patient may self-administer the medication and to determine whether and when to do this.

That sounds quite "Hitlerish" if you ask me! We can spend trillions on defense but not for our eldery or school kids? Why is healthcare so expensive yet Canada manages to provide?

If this article came from a reputable news agency it would have some clout. Instead, I won't even bother reading through that rubbish that was probably written by an underpaid Journalism major from the University of Alabama. I can fins better journalism in my college newspaper.

Try getting a better job that isn't minimum wage. If you can't find one, then move to an area that has jobs available.

People have no desire to earn more than minimum wage because the government picks up the rest of the tab for the "working poor." I have meet many people who refuse more hours or higher positions because it would affect the subsidies they receive from the government.

The answer is to quit the things creating inflation. One you can control, the other you can't.

CNN confuses Egypt’s flag with Syria’s flag
