God forbid someone should try to do some conflict resolution between factions.

If the report is true, then yes the DOJ was out of line.

I think you unwittingly pointed out what would be wrong with the DOJ's actions.

How did the DOJ "reduce tensions" and act in an "impartial" manner when they were apparently favoring support to one side. Helping organize anti-Zimmerman rallies, shuttling people to anti-Zimmerman rallies, bringing in speakers to anti-Zimmerman rallies, etc... More like fanning the flames than easing tensions in an impartial manner.

I know as Obama said anyways while admitting that he didn't have all the facts that "the police acted stupidly." Whoops, wrong Obama butt in.

"If I had a son, he would have looked like Trayvon." Thus the president, once again, without all the facts, interjected himself into it and with race (would have looked like me). The great Hope and Change, to bring us together as a post racial leader. No wonder the Federal DOJ took sides in a local crime, without all the facts, and assisted in riling up support for one side.

Indeed sir, you are correct... anyone thinks these two give a rat's behind about the average American citizen keep drinking that Kool Aid. All about their agenda, deflect any wrongdoings and push onward to the big brother utopian society. Where's my free stuff? Should have been here by now

What government agencies say they do and what they actually do often times conflict.

The AG office is suppose to prosecute criminals but Holder has come out and stated that he will not as it might in some unexplained way harm the economy.

Nowhere in any definition of the AG's office will you find a definition of being the protectors of high level criminals.

Our country is lost. I hate to say it but when we've gotten to this point where the DOJ uses tax payer money to feed racial tensions and gets involved in a matter like protesting, what else can you say.

How did you come up with the opinion that DOJ was feeding racial tensions, looks like they were there to prevent escalation from what you posted. By the way $5000 doesn't go too far.

So $5000 over all of these events would do little to ease tensions so what exactly is the point and reason here?

This is something the government had absolutely no business interjecting themselves into. It was a local crime issue that happens all across the country but for some reason it's become a national story.

If there are problems after the verdict the blame lies solely on the shoulders of those who have made this a national story.

From a Florida Sunshine Law request filed on April 23, 2012, JW received thousands of pages of emails on April 27, 2012, in which was found an email by Miami-Dade County Community Relations Board Program Officer Amy Carswell from [scribd]152915992[/scribd]April 16, 2012[/url]: “Congratulations to our partners, Thomas Battles, Regional Director, and Mildred De Robles, Miami-Dade Coordinator and their co-workers at the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Service for their outstanding and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and build bridges of understanding and respect in Sanford, Florida” following a news article in the Orlando Sentinel about the secretive “peacekeepers.”
Documents Obtained by Judicial Watch Detail Role of Justice Department in Organizing Trayvon Martin Protests | Judicial Watch

It wan't all that secrative if Amy Carswell was emailing prasie to have the CSR in Miami to help monitor the situation. When Battle lines were being drawn, the City called in the CSR.

It is a huge freaking leap to say that the CSR was there...to...CSR was there to insight marches and ero the dsicontent. Huge freaking leap which is not supported by any documentation other that third or forth party conjecture.

Judicial Watch does not even provide such doumentation. Travel vouchers are not indicators of actions. They are evidence that The CSR slept at the Red Roof Inn and had breakfast at Denny's.

At the very best this can be spinned that the government interjected themselves into this story and helped make it a story on race even though there has never been any evidence (outside of the stuff the media made up) that race played any role and once that story got major airplay then interjected themselves to try and calm down the anger they themselves helped stir up.

Obama had no business in commenting on the story at all. The media should be financially held responsible if there are any problems for completely misrepresenting what initially went on to try and drum up ratings.
