Damn. And we were in such a good place and heading in such a positive direction right before Obama took office due to the great policies and actions of the previous occupant...

Ah yes the battle cry of the left.......when all else fails.......especially Obama...........Blame Bush. Five years later blame Bush. Now exactly how long will this continue? Will that be the title of Obama's biography?

Poor 'Chief, you seem to be under the mistaken impression that your Dear Leader Bush left this country in peachy-keen condition, and it was all undone by Obama. You are the poster child for cognitive dissonance on this board.

First, it's undeniable that Bush left Obama a holy mess. The economy was in free-fall and the banking system was in near collapse. Then, there were was a monthly job loss of nearly a million persons. It's not a deflection to note the disaster Bush left the nation.

Second, since Obama has been President, that has all reversed, to the chagrin of his detractors. Job losses have turned to gains; companies are setting record profits; the banks have recovered; the auto industry is back on its feet, etc.

Another hypocracy of the right (is right short for self righteous?). Who was the most vacationing president ever? Even though he had two ongoing wars, fiscal crisises, war on terror, etc. etc. etc.

Crew of 42

Must be nice to get 4 months of vacation time off a year from the most important job in the world. So he was in office for really on 5 of those 8 years then. I guess Dubya earned it though with all that he did for and mostly to us. Maybe he was on a permenant vacation. Must be tough being born with a silver spoon in your mouth and then acting like it.

Oh, are the Soetoros vacationing on Martha's Vinyard at the same time as the Obamas? Are they people we're supposed to know? I know the birthers have invented a persona named Barry Soetoro, but you do know that's a figment of their overactive imaginations, right? I would hate to think that you are truly stupid enough to believe such a person exists.

Yes everything is just fine and dandy right...............

Everything is fine, but continuing claims for unemployment benefits just spiked to the highest level since early 2009.
Everything is fine, but in the month of June spending at restaurants fell by the most that we have seen since February 2008.
Everything is fine, but Google's earnings for the second quarter came in way below expectations.
Everything is fine, but Microsoft's earnings for the second quarter came in way below expectations.
Everything is fine, but chip maker Intel has reported revenue declines for four quarters in a row.
Everything is fine, but the number of housing starts in June was the lowest that we have seen in almost a year.
Everything is fine, but the number of mortgage applications has dropped 45 percent since May.
Everything is fine, but the homeownership rate in America is now at its lowest level in nearly 18 years.
Everything is fine, but the United States is losing half a million jobs to China every single year.
Everything is fine, but the U.S. economy actually lost 240,000 full-time jobs last month.
Everything is fine, but the number of full-time workers in the United States is now nearly 6 million below the old record that was set back in 2007.
Everything is fine, but 40 percent of all U.S. workers make less than $20,000 a year at this point.
Everything is fine, but robots are starting to take over fast food jobs. If working class Americans someday won't even be able to work at McDonald's, what will they do to earn money in the years ahead as the jobs disappear?
Everything is fine, but the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline has now reached $3.66.
Everything is fine, but the number of Americans on food stamps has increased by almost 50 percent while Obama has been in the White House.
Everything is fine, but the U.S. government is going to borrow about 4 trillion dollars in fiscal 2013.
Everything is fine, but worldwide business confidence has fallen to the lowest level since the last recession.
Everything is fine, but the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff just told Congress that Obama is considering using the U.S. military to intervene in the conflict in Syria.

Unfortunately, the cold, hard reality of the matter is that everything is not fine.

Hasn't that always been the case that everything wasn't ALL fine? You can't really expect perfection unless you are nuts. At what point in this country was everything "all fine?" The only question should be are things on balance improving or not. Anyone can pull problems out of there rear and wave them in the nations face from any administration. I would say the one credibility problem that many of you anti Obama people have is that many of you always hated him and wanted him to fail. You can't say the same about someone like Dubya that had 90% approval rating after people rallied around him shortly after 9/11 only to leave office in disgrace. Well, you at least you have reconvinced those that never like him anyways. Congrats.

Ah, our white African-American President is pandering to his white side again by vacationing on the whitest island in the nation. Bravo.
