776.012 Use of force in defense of person.—A person is justified in using force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force. However, a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat if:
(1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony; or
(2) Under those circumstances permitted pursuant to s. 776.013.

Passing worthless laws that restrict honest citizens from protecting themselves or their families will do nothing to remove it.. According to Rachel TM was at his dad's house and to that point there was no interaction between TM and GZ.
TM and GZ did encounter each other somewhere near the T.
Ergo, if we are to believe Rachel then the only logical assumption is either a) GZ went all the way to the house somehow and then dragged TM back to the T or b) TM turned back.
How did Martin then find Zimmerman? Where was he during that time?
Also, have you ever told someone you were much closer to someplace than you really were when talking on the phone? Everyone does it, it is easy to say that you are at your home when you are still a few blocks away.
SYG needs some serious scrutiny. It would seem that it give a killer a free pass as long as he/she can say they were in fear for their life AND there are no witnesses.
PS: I see people replying to their own threads all the time.
But of course with regular self defense law (not SYG), witnesses magically appear out of thin air.
It seems to fly right over your heads that you can lie and claim self defense whether or not SYG exists. These two things really have nothing to do with each other, at all.

True, it is easy for someone to lie and say they were standing their ground if the other person is dead. That is why it is basically a law that allows law abiding citizens to commit murder.
