the problem is, you can't hear the other person's story so this law is not working as it was intended, i assume it was intended for honest people, which was naive to say the least
Innocent until proven guilty is the foundation of our criminal justice system. You cannot presume the killer is guilty first.

gun advocates always say, well its just once incident, why label the whole gun owner group? well yea, its like one, per week...
just the fact that you are allowed to kill someone and say it was self-defense with NO witnesses confirming your story is incredible to me
even miami police chief and many other police officials said the law was "dangerous and unnecessary": As Florida police chiefs predicted in 2005, the law has been used to justify killings ranging from drug dealers’ turf battles to road rage incidents. Homicides categorized as justifiable have nearly tripled since the law went into effect. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/24/op...-law.html?_r=0
but of course it's smarter to listen to redneck, hillbilly nutjobs and their arguments for it than police supervisors who do this for a living.
So in the cases you cite above, how many are defended under SYG?

With the angle you are coming at it, it would justify shooting cops that have a gun, because you would feel threatened.
Police is a different matter. Z is not a policeman.

If Z was following T-man with gun's blazing or showing and that fact was known to T-man, it would present an immediate danger to T-man's life. T-man would be totally in his right to fight back with deadly force. SYG or not, he would be justified to use force.

Just one of many cases where this law was adopted. Why did this man have an ice pick to begin with? Who drives with an ice pick at hand? Perhaps, a nutjob? How do we know he is telling the truth, we can't hear another guy's version cuz he's dead! The race is also a factor, and they are quick to attack black people and then claim self defense, but the gun happy redneck nutjobs are killing other white people too so everyone should be concerned. Florida man kills door-to-door salesman: I’ll kill anybody that steps on my property Florida man kills door-to-door salesman: I

This craziness needs to stop.

The left notes "exceptions to the rule" to diminish a law which is quite sensible. Much more common is the situation of a defenseless citizen, killed or brutalized by a criminal. Of course, these events receive no coverage in the media, as it is considered "normal" by the left and business as usual.

The "rights" of criminals have been promoted for too long at the expense of victims. "Stand your ground" laws allow citizens to defend themselves from violent criminals.

When one engages in a violent act against another, your "right" to kill them and not suffer consequences should not exist. If you are trying to kill someone or severely injure them, perhaps you deserve to die. God knows our "justice system" is soft on criminals and justice is never actually realized for the victim.

This becomes moot when defendant's lies are glaringly obvious.

I don't have to watch any video, the law was you had a duty to retreat or could face prosecution and that is absurd.

why should any of the law abiding that is in fear for their be forced to retreat in order to shoot some criminal? SYG laws should be the law of the land as the police are not there to protect the individual citizen at all, and when they do respond, they always come after the crime is already over.

Why we need "Stand your Ground":

UPDATE: Athens woman kills husband in apparent self-defense - WRCBtv.com | Chattanooga News, Weather & Sports

"His wife called 911 and was telling our dispatchers that he was trying to break into the residence. So as officers were in route to render aid, he made his way into the residence. She retreated into the back bedroom, and at some point fired a shot and he was killed," said Guy.
