I don't go around looking for fights,
do you ?
Because that seems to be where the problem is ,from this point of view.
A kid with a chip on his shoulder is not going to take any thing from some one else cause hes'a a bad MF and will do any thing to prove it .
Some old guy fed up with being abused by punks, finally says to him self I've had enough .
One has to ask why would 2 strangers be in such a confrontation, unless ther were a previous event that made the recognition possable?
I'm sure there is a lot more to the story, but the media is not playing it. The same with many other such events.

because i dont wan think about gettin robbed and shot and killed and then the criminal will say he thought i was a threat and be free, while nobod will even know he was tryin to rob me
jus one reason off the top of my head

deadly force is an act of absolute last resort, and thus stand your ground is unethical and just damn evil in almost every case

We already have "castle" laws that protect you when your in your residence. Or if your attacked.

The Zimmerman case was neither. He picked a fight over an assumption, said that he was losing the fight, and then shot an innocent man.

So this should set precedent that if your getting your a*s kicked in a fight you can shoot the other person if you feel your life is in danger. Even if you started the fight.

I really don't care if there's a law or not. Either way I'd defend myself, as would almost any normal person I'd hope.

Oh I think the Zimmerman debacle has proven just the opposite. The jury had its hands tied because of the way the law is written.

There should be a responsibility to retreat if one can do so safely. Killing should be the extreme, very last resort in civilized society.

That's Florida for you, you want to harm someone, make sure you kill the person so you can claim it was in self defense and the other person can't disagree.
