The SYG laws need to be repealed. Self defense is a very real need and should be protected under the law. But SYG laws make a mockery of justice and responsibility.
SquareWheel - nothing wrong with an OP stating a position to his topic. Quite refreshing actually.
SYG needs some serious scrutiny. It would seem that it give a killer a free pass as long as he/she can say they were in fear for their life AND there are no witnesses.

gun advocates always say, well its just once incident, why label the whole gun owner group? well yea, its like one, per week...
just the fact that you are allowed to kill someone and say it was self-defense with NO witnesses confirming your story is incredible to me

but of course it's smarter to listen to redneck, hillbilly nutjobs and their arguments for it than police supervisors who do this for a living.
Please watch this video before you comment on the SYG. You would be glad that you did as you wouldn't make a fool of yourself or end up dead or in jail.
