EVERY LIBERAL defends Obama's assaults on personal liberties, as they never really believed in that concept in the first place. Their "dream world" is one in which "enlightened rulers" dictate rules and policy to the unwashed masses. The rule of law and individual liberty, as a result, is an archaic inconvenience which prevents the "chosen" from creating a utopian society. Laws and personal liberty just get in the way of "progress" and should be eliminated- the "rulers" will see that everything is all right.

Ask ANY LIBERAL here whether they defend Obama's spying on citizens and using the DOJ and the IRS to harass citizens. They are all on board and love it.

Sadly I work with one that expresses these liberal thoughts and 'in step" responses.

Scary as if they were Stepford Citizens.

Default Imperial (R) Congress' weapon of mass obstruction

Some more delusion...courtesy of Obama derangement syndrome.

President Obama is no more an imperial president than any president that preceded him. Ironic that he should be branded with this label considering that the legislation of his party is the most filibustered in the history of the American presidency.

Pretty soon they are going to need a new metric to count the filibusters.

This is a legitimate point.

If it was wrong for Bush to expand presidential powers, why is it okay for Obama to expand them even further to areas that he agrees are illegal?
Please specify what powers Obama has expanded. Also specify what acts he is doing that campaigned against, and reference the lines in his campaign speeches where he spoke out against them.

(Note to readers: The OP probably won't heed to this request. Every time I ask these people for specifics they simply stop posting. Or at the very most, they rarely will post specifics to ther allegations, and then when I rebutt them showing the specific allegations are false, they fall silent again and don't respond.)

Unfortunately a lot defend it or simply don't know, or both, it's unfortunate. I know liberals that are against it though, they're cool people.

I didn't trust this presidency from the get go, I'm not going to blame it all on the man himself since when you're president like that you have a lot of enabling factors and pressures from within the governemnt, I can understand that, still I dislike his administration and him as a figurehead and he could've done a lot better.

Here's an awesome site

Obama the Conservative | Tracking Obama's abandoning of the progressive agenda, and the disconnect between his words and deeds.

All you are doing is diverting from this. I didn't think Bush did a good job. I think he messed up. Now Obama is doing a worse job in this regard and you excuse it, simply because he has a D next to his name...thanks for letting the country slide.
I never said what Bush did with the power of president was wrong, I just disagreed with it, much like you disagree with what Obama is doing, it is politics.

Conservatives embrace fascism and favor the law of the Bible over the constitution. EVERY CONSERVATIVE defends Rebullican assaults on civil liberties including but not limited to same-sex marriage, women's health, marijuana use, alcohol use (blue sunday laws and dry counties), adult entertainment, gambling, freedom of speech, the right protest, the right to form unions, and many more. They are cahractized by chauvinism, xenophobia and their strong belief in imperialism and militarism that is manifested in a constant desire for war and conquest in which the state is able to acquire more natural resources and impose their form of government and ideology on the nations they invade. Their "dream world" is one in which "religious rulers" dictate rules and policies based on the Bible and a pre-World War II cultural ideology. Christian religion is so intrinsic to their ideology that during their primary debates in which they elect their "holy ruler" the candidates are asked about their religious practices including church attendance and prayer. The rule of law and liberty, as a result, is a contemporary creation that is an abomination and in opposition to their political goals and world view. Laws and personal liberty stand in the way of their goal to achieve a homogenous, monocultured society based on the Bible and under single party rule in which the Catholic Church and Southern Baptist Convention hold considerable power along with the Republican party.

Ask ANY CONSERVATIVE whether they defend the Patriot Act or Bush's NSA surveillance program that spied on U.S. citizens. They are all on board and love it.

case in point

Despite clear evidence of:

1. the DOJ intimidating a FOX news reporter
2. tapping AP phone lines
3. the NSA spying on US citizens
4. using drones to spy on US citizens
5. using drones to kill US citizens
6. using the IRS to punish conservatives

One can argue the merits of tyranny. However, the facts are clear that these events did, in fact occur. Liberals (as the one above) are so far gone that they simply deny the occurrence of these events, thus it is easier for them to rationalize being a liberal and embracing fascism.
