the state must not think she's that dangerous if they were willing to give her a 3 year sentence.

sentencing this woman to 20 years is evil. And anyone who agrees with the sentence lacks empathy and is pretty damn evil themselves.
Has anyone agreed with the sentence? Anyone at all?

The law agrees with it. She agrees with it. She had an option out of it and she didn't take it.

Not the sentence part. The law wasn't written for people like her and the judge stated that if he had the authority he would have given her a more reasonable sentence.

THIS is what those angry about Trayvon should channel their energy towards...and women should be PI**ED OFF!!!

She was "standing her ground". Even the sponsor of the bill admits this was wrong! Where is the outrage???

I am pissed off about it. Just don't know what I can personally do. It's the mandatory sentencing laws that are the problem here. They have to get rid of those and trust the judge to use their wisdom and discretion.

The judge is not the law. What's interesting is that she knew that the law would apply to her beforehand. It was shown to apply in a preceding case. But she still went forward with her action.

I don't know that she knew that there was a precedent. She knew the risks and threw the dice on SYG. I don't know what her legal advice was though.

I don't see how she was standing her ground after reading about the facts of the incident. But yes, I think the penalty was way too harsh. She was absolutely wrong but not so wrong where 20 years should be the punishment

Why does Florida keep ****ing up and getting terrible press? I'm ashamed to be from that state.

HEY GUYS, I'M TAKING DONATIONS TO BUY THE WORLD'S LARGEST SAW SO I CAN CUT OFF FLORIDA FROM THE REST OF THE 48 STATES.
