Sharpton and others like him are convinced that they can bring enough pressure on Obama & Holder to ignore the Law, ignore the trial by jury & the verdict ....... just because they don't like the verdict.
What the hell...it worked in Florida. A case that should never have been brought was brought thanks to craven politicians. I'm sure it will take less pressure than that this time given that a sitting Attorney General refers to (only) one demographic group as "[his] people".
I can't blame Martin's parents for not wanting their child to be dead due to his own actions. However, Sharpton is trading on Martin's death for publicity and that is sickening. In his zeal to prove racsim is still rampant in America, he has been wrong more than he has been right. In this case, I think it is rather offensive to use Martin's death to further his own personal agenda.
If Sharpton wants to instigate change, then try addressing the tragedy of black on black crime. Change from within, and find out why so many promising young black men are being killed on a daily basis.
he is a race baiting sphincter who could care less about the Martins and their loss but wants to further his own agenda, and further curb race relations. What the brain deads don't understand is he and people like him thrive on confrontation, agitation, and unrest. Without these issues he would quielty slip away into obscurity, and he can't have that now can he?
Bottom like, besides breakfast, lunch and dinner, Al Sharpton only cares about Al Sharpton
If anyone is serious about improving race relations in America, there should be an immediate boycott of MSNBC until they remove this racist piece of garbage from their nightly programming. He single handedly sets this country at odds with one another.
I guess they won't rest until Zimmerman is behind bars for life.
The court of public opinion found him guilty. Now they want the DOJ to intervene.
The ugly side of racism is showing its face today.
In the court of public opinion, assumption runs rampant, as people get their own "feel" for right and wrong, and then become so entrenched in their own bias that they refuse to consider the hard details of evidence and proof. People need no trial to tell them what happened. They hear a story and whatever gut reaction they have to it becomes their reality.
As show trials go, this one has generated plenty of fodder for television heads to fill the empty minutes between commercials. But it has also shown that the court of public opinion can't be trusted. Americans still don't understand their own system. They don't get that the rights they want for themselves have to be given to people they despise as well. They refuse to accept that someone they feel with absolute certainty is guilty can be properly acquitted.
Why bother with a trial? We should have just consulted with Al Sharpton, as to what he wanted. He said he wanted a trial, but now, that was not enough.
The issue is that this is not a civil rights issue, it was two idiots who met, Trayvon was not a budding Harvard scholar, nor was Zimmerman. The only note in this mess is that they were different colors.
Al, give it up. The civil rights days are over. Don't make the actions of Zimmerman and Martin destroy the work of MLK, who would have seen this for what it was... An isolated event, not worth this escalation. Every young black man in the United States is not gunned down for taking a walk. This is not a large scale event.

And then white people are the ones who get labeled "racists".
If a white person puts their own race above everything else, then that's considered "racism". If a black person puts their own race above everything else, then that's considered "acceptable".
