I thought you would have learned by now that everybody has inconsistent beliefs. They have their general beliefs, but there's always exceptions to their general beliefs. In other words, the world is less black and white than what you think it is
It's left-wing hypocrisy at its finest!

They promote the individual freedom to abort fetuses but absolutely OPPOSE the individual freedom to donate or sell one's own organs to anyone.

The lefties pretended but never truly cared about individuals exercising full control over their own bodies.

I'd rather take my organs with me than have them go to the highest bidder.

Me too.

This reminds me of Ron Paul's great plan to sell all public land to the highest bidders.

You are kidding right? You, Ron Paul, and Iran are all in agreement.

The practice of selling one's kidney for profit in Iran is legal and regulated by the government. In any given year, it is estimated that 1400 Iranians sell one of their kidneys to a recipient who was previously unknown to them. Iran currently is the only country in the world that allows the sale of one's kidney for compensation (typically a payment); consequently, the country does not have either a waiting list or a shortage of available organs.

Sorry, but the left and right are both equally hypocritical. Nobody is consistent 100% with their beliefs

It takes a special kind of stupid to think organs will go to the highest bidder.

There would be a set price like everything else.

You may pay more for a liver from a 25 year old than a 65 year old.

It would work itself out like everything else in the free market.

And why would the cost be set so high that only the wealthy could obtain an organ? Setting the price so high you eliminate 95% of the market makes no sense at all. If you want to actually sell something, that is.

Why do people think the rules of economics that apply to every other product/service in all of human history will magically change for body organs? Morons.

That being said, Ron Paul is a moron. The free market is not the cure and be-all end-all solution to everything

This is what a free market for body organs looks like:

Quote:
The organ market is largely made up of impoverished and desperate sellers, wealthy, ailing customers and predatory middlemen. Most sales take place in developing countries, where a kidney can often be purchased for the price of a high-end TV. In Iran — the only country in the world where organ sales are legal — a healthy kidney retails for about $6,000. The going rate is less than half that amount in India, which has an abundance of doctors capable of performing the procedure and destitute masses often unable to raise cash any other way.

That's a great idea.

The government is broke and hos no business owning land in the first place.

Plus, people take care of their own property better than public property so everyone would likely benefit.

Oh I don't know. Could it be desperation to live or have a family member live????

Wrong.

That is what the organ industry looks like where it is highly regulated and/or illegal.

Try again please.
