Yes. That is a dangerous possibility. I'm not saying all roads lead there, but the growing inequalities in the U.S., the despair and precarious existence of millions of unemployed people, a volatile and struggling economy, gun violence and institutionalized incarceration of minorities, the grid-locked partisan politics,----all set the stage for the emergence of a charismatic leader that people turn to out of desperation.
Yep. I would have to say so. We already have registries for 'sex offenders" of which there are more than 200 "offences" that can get a person labeled as such. Hitler started out with a"sexual deviant" registry.
Now we are moving down the road of registries for animal abuse, DV, DUI, etc. etc. Pretty soon, we'll all be registered for something

Tyrants are bred out of economic chaos, and Obama is delivering plenty of chaos, creating fertile ground for one more tyrannical than him.
Rarely are calm, educated, merciful individuals delivered in the the wake of chaos, the US revolution being the exception.
