This is highly inappropriate. The nation's top cop should not be talking smack about state laws. His shouldn't be a bully pulpit. Doing this is the same as trying to change laws which is not his business. He should whisper to his boss if he wants that issue out there.
It's just grandstanding. Surely he recognizes that states have general power and the federal government has limited power... Right?
No, that's not what it means. It means that you are NOT REQUIRED to retreat, that's ALL that it means. When I said there won't be any Lefties chiming in on this, I left out the word HONESTLY!
Yep. I'm beginning to think that most people railing against Florida's "stand your ground" statute (and many people claiming affirmative defense by it) have never read 776.013 or are incapable of comprehending it OR would rather regurgitate the patently false drivel that issued forth from the maw of some vacuous pundit on cable.
People will use any trick they can to get out of a guilty verdict. Many of the cases in that article are clearly not "self defense", so "stand your ground" didn't apply and they were found guilty.
That is not the conclusion from the source data,[the Tampa Bay times]... that is the interpretation of the daily caller and you.
Post where the source material indicates their investigation show that the Florida SYG law is a benefit for black Floridians.
Giving a percental breakdown of whom used the SYG, is not in any why, showing that a group/race benefits...or beneits more than any other group or race.
Tha Daily caller can make that assumption, but that is all it is...
Many ARE prone to violence. WAKE UP! That's why there are more blacks using SYG! DUH!
Nice to see you changing your tune...I glad I could help you.
