There is no limit to what Big Government advocates will do. Now it's illegal in Ohio to have a secret compartment in your car. Big Government and our obsession with anything that has to do with drugs has driven the ruling class to extremes. Pathetic.

On the bright side.

The Ohio law specifically exempts law-abiding citizens who use a hidden compartment to secure legal firearms or valuables. Indeed, the law’s enforcement mechanism hinges on “intent” to use the secret compartment for hiding drugs.

Neighboring Pennsylvania recently introduced similar legislation. California, Georgia, Illinois, and Utah have also criminalized hidden compartments.

So what? You can carry illegal drugs in a tupperware container. Do you want to ban tupperware containers?

In at least two cases publicized by the OSHP since the law took effect, individuals were arrested not for transporting drugs but for violating the new secret-compartment law. In one case, police say two cellphones were found in the compartment of a defendant who has a history of trafficking.
So they were arrested for doing something that is actually legal under the law because they had been in trouble in the past?
The Ohio law specifically exempts law-abiding citizens who use a hidden compartment to secure legal firearms or valuables.
How are cell phones not valuables?
We are now arresting people simply on suspicion?
