Taking cities who are not performing is very misleading.... What you need to look at is metro areas, Detroit is a pig, but the Detroit Metro area in a lot of ways is on par with Atlanta, the two have comparable unemployment rates. Detroit is a point higher at this point.

Detroit-Warren-Livonia, Michigan Metropolitan Unemployment Rate and Total Unemployed | Department of Numbers
Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, Georgia Metropolitan Unemployment Rate and Total Unemployed | Department of Numbers

So thank you for proving my point with the best cities to do business and work in are all Democrat or Mormon controlled.

Yea paying the majority of the taxes for the state supporting the "red" portions public services, things like fire, police, and schools. Things most republicans think are blue state luxuries.

Liberalism is truly an insane disease. No responsibility for anything. ALWAYS someone else's fault.

Seriously?
The KING of bankruptcy is Donald Trump. As I recall, not so liberal.

I find this amusing that the OP conveniently forgets that it was a Republican POTUS that bankrupted this country. How does TWO unpaid for wars grab ya for starters? It was Reaganomics, more affectionately and aptly referred to as voodoo, that is still haunting us.

The nation has always fared better under Democratic Presidents and that is a fact.

Quote:
The deficit is now only 4% of the GDP, down from over 10% at the end of Bush’s administration – and projections are for it to be only 2% by 2015 (before Obama leaves office.) America’s “debt problem” seems largely solved, and almost all due to growth rather than austerity.

Economically, Could Obama Be America's Best President? - Forbes
So, OP...seems as if whatever city you are touting, they are recovering and thriving due to the guy in the White House despite the GOP controlled Congress and their self-serving determination to see him fail.

You really shouldn't start threads when you have no idea what you are talking about.

Just some friendly advice.
