So how about those slums you know nothing about?

You don't have to ask because its bogus.I know who it is and they are just doing ot because I created the poll. Its rather entertaining actually that they think it matters or proves anything. It just proves that intelligent conversation is not possible when you have unintelligent people.

LOL!

NY State is #1 in the country in state per-pupil funding.

NY City is #1 in the country in city per-pupil funding.
Oh yeah "everyone" sure knows that. Considering the state your English is in I can see why you would think that. Or maybe you just have Alzheimer's.

Per-pupil ranking list where New York is #1 is like saying Phoenix gets less rain than Los Angeles. Theyre still low numbers. But you wont comprehend this. Being ranked first doesnt mean theyre still not underfunded. Education in America as a whole is underfunded. The vast majority of public schools in inner cities fall below standard, so a well performing school is the exception.

CT ranked 4th on per-pupil spending....

Either way, this is the wrong thread.

Lol your comments get more ironic every second. You want to talk about "wrong thread?" Ok let's talk about how you bring up education system of other countries in a thread that was about New York and Chicago. Or how you say Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge can't be icons because they are parks and bridges even though they are some the most well known places in the world more than ANYTHING in Chicago. So maybe the problem is you having problem reading.

You want talk about this thread, ok, the entire country become like Detroit? LOL.

Chicago. On a less major scale I would say Cleveland and Buffalo. Too many tax, government spending, and weather problems to keep these places alive.

This article sums it up well: How Sprawl Got Detroit Into This Mess | Streetsblog Capitol Hill

Pretty awesome one ideologue can get a thread moved with his/her inane political ranting.

Its got nothing to do with Chicago.

IMO they arent. Just because of being overexposed in Hollywood doesnt mean ****, but you probably have four accounts on TMZ just like here, right? So I can see why your balls are so twisted over it.

Reading the cities in the pole I think Camden, Trenton and Hartford are already in some form of Bank problem. There are others on that list which are working to solve there problems.

The question is what does this mean to the public unions, they are a small percentage of the problem and guaranteed by the constitution as they are in other states but they will need to be addressed. Even if they cut pensions and benefits 80% they wouldn't be close, but they need to be renegotiated.

When Stockton, CA declared bankruptcy there were few concessions if any but this is much more serious.
Those of you that believe that this will be addressed solely by Michigan are badly mistaken.

By the way there are many cities, counties, villages in distress, Detroit is the largest to date but there are more to follow.
