THIS is truly one of the underreported outcomes of Obamacare. I have seen a similar increase in my premiums (closer to 22%), and though my company shopped it around, they were still unable to lower the rates.

What Obamacare did was give the insurance companies free reign to raise the rates at will, because they knew what was coming when this ill-conceived legislation would take effect. Of course, Obama would want to sing the praises of the ability of Obamacare to magically lower premiums -- despite that fact that those premiums had increased significantly up to the implementation date. In other words, insurance companies got what they wanted, which was more expensive premiums to cover their overhead.

The tragic/comedic irony here is that this piece of crap legislation was Obama's legacy. He even lied about the circumstances surrounding his own mother's death to add to the narrative.

Dems join call to delay ObamaCare mandate amid website failures | Fox News

Quote:
Several Democratic senators are calling on the Obama administration to delay enforcement of the health care law's individual mandate, joining their Republican colleagues in saying it would be unfair to penalize Americans for failing to buy insurance when the primary sign-up website doesn't work.

The Democratic dominoes began to fall quickly Wednesday, after Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., circulated a letter urging President Obama to extend enrollment beyond March 31, 2014.

So your insurance has been going up 20% each year since 2010?

Dems are running from it to save their jobs. Once reelected they will be all for it again. Also the main purpose of this law was the 2.5% tax. 2.5% from every american who pays taxes. Either in commission to the goverment or penalty to goverment. They dont care if you have insurance or not. Just as long as you pay you extortion fee of 2.5%.

Obama will blame the programmers when its his administration that gave those programmers the requirements. I bet this inembt administration didnt even put in a provision in the no bid contract that it had to work correctly before full payment of contract. I bet theres no need to be a working site to get paid. Just that the site was built. Normally when you buy a service that doesnt work, they fix it for free, or you get a partual refund! So how much money are we getting back?

I am a different poster but 20% is not correct! Its much more for me. Nothing personal has changed in the last 4yrs and i changed insurance compaines to lower rates too. Heres my family of 4 rates

337 celtic (8000 deduct) no dental(2011)
388 celtic (same)
545 (anthem bcbs with 11000 decduct and $100 for dental) celtic was going to be over 700
587 (no change other than its last yr before policy expires)(2014)

Fyi my deduct is high because we use less than $2000 a yr towards it) its 80/20 so to hit deduction i need to pay 20% added up to deductable. The extra 300 a month to have a low deductable isnt worth it.

Once the health care exchanges are in place, and we have a couple of years of operation under our belt (with problems that happen with any new program tweaked, and I'll be the first to say that we need to do some tweaking) I'll be curious to see what the response is. I don't know anyone with young adult children or with a pre-existing condition who doesn't like being able to easily insure themselves or their kids, and that's the majority of what's up and running now.
My nomination for Post of the Day! I haven't laughed so hard since............, I can't remember when.

(Oh, never mind. I just realized the post to which I responded was written in July. Still very funny, though.)
