Yes his son was named after the great terrorist Osama. This is what our dear leader crawled into bed with. No not at the Chicago bathhouses but in his wonderful arab spring.

"The family of the ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has accused the army of abducting him. His daughter Shaimaa told a news conference in Cairo that the family was taking legal measures against the army.
Mr Morsi has been held at an undisclosed location without charge since he was removed from power on 3 July.
At least three people were killed in clashes on Monday between opponents and supporters of the former president.
Mr Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood movement has refused to recognise the new military-backed administration and continues to hold almost daily street protests.
One person died and dozens of protesters were wounded during unrest in central Cairo, medical officials said. Egyptian state TV reported that seven pro-Morsi protesters had been arrested for possession of illegal weapons."

Given that Morsi the younger is about 30, I'd say it's less likely he was named for Bin Laden than he was given the name long before Bin Laden rose to any sort of prominence in the Muslim world. While it may not sound like a common name to you, it was a popular male name in the Arab world (it means "lion"), particularly prior to its stigmatization by Bin Laden. Osama (name) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That nit having been picked, please carry on.

Bin Laden was known to the FBI long before 9/11. When OBL graduated from college in 1979 he went to Pakistan to support the mujahideen - which was supported and trained by the US - fighting against the Soviets. His money bought him access to various activities/groups which had also established relationships with various Egyptian jihadist groups, one of which was the MB. He broke off from the MB because, although their ultimate goal was the same, they differed on certain beliefs as to implementation of Sharia. He formed Al Qaeda in 1988. Although known to the US because of his earlier involvement with the mujahideen, Al Qaeda/OBL started to draw closer attention from the US. OBL was around a very long time before 9/11 and the US was very much aware of him. (1998 embassy bombings). He was very well known in the ME, he became well known to the world on 9/11.

There is a good possibility that the son was named after OBL because of his rising power (and his money which he spread around).

Bin Laden's first name was Osama. Morsi's kid is named Osama. Pretty simple stuff. Lot of mooooslim brudderhood folks are most likely named Osama. He is their hero after all. And our great leader went to bat for terrorists. Wasn't the first time.

so what? Osama is a common name as is John is, in America.

so is Muhammad, Muhammed and other names from Arab speaking countries, or those with Arabic roots.

That's like saying John Kerry was named after John Wayne Gacy
