A vote recently took place to repeal parts of the GOP's horrible NSA bill which has led to big brother attacking freedom and privacy. Who was on the side of freedom and who was on the side of huge government?

The democrats voted 111-83 to honor freedom and the constitution.
The GOP voted 134-98 in favor of attacks on freedom, liberty and the constitution. The bill ultimately failed because of the GOP's support for using the constitution for toilet paper.

Thanks GOP!

The democrats voted 111 yea to 83 nay (yea votes are to repeal the attacks on freedom)

The republicans voted 98 yea to 134 nay . I don't have a clue to what you are talking about,..

There was a different amendment passed that nobody is talking about:

Quote:
The Pompeo amendment (championed by Rep. Mike Pompeo of Kansas) passed the House with a bipartisan vote of 409-12. However, “no one is talking about it,” Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) told TheBlaze on Thursday.

The amendment that passed is reportedly intended to “ensure none of the funds may be used by the NSA to target a U.S. person or acquire and store the content of a U.S. person’s communications, including phone calls and e-mails.”
Here is the exact phrasing of the Pompeo amendment (emphasis added):

None of funds made available by this Act may be used by the National Security Agency to–

(1) conduct an acquisition pursuant to section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 for the purpose of targeting a United States person; or

(2) acquire, monitor, or store the contents (as such term is defined in section 2510(8) of title 18, United States Code) of any electronic communication of a United States person from a provider of electronic communication services to the public pursuant to section 501 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978.

The way you worded it wasn't very clear, you switched the yes/no vote around in the two sentences. Once I figured it out I deleted my post. Both parties should be ashamed to vote for this bill.

No, every politician the voted nay is an america hating fascist, and not surprisingly, the GOP are the ones that overwhelmingly voted in favor of violating our rights and the constitution.

Do you realize that Obama doesn't want the NSA curbed ?
Obama wanted Congress to reject the bill and they did.

People who still support the parties are crazy to me. I just believe that a powerful government is inherently corrupt. There should be warrants before people are allowed to be spied on, the way its been in the past with our government agencies. There's no reason to spy on 99% of Americans.
