Stung by the shift in support for LGBT rights by the majority of Americans, the legalization of same-sex marriage in many states, and especially the disbanding of "Exodus" - the largest of several religious organizations aimed at converting gay people into heterosexuality, the Family Research Council called for a massive rally to be held in our nation's capital to put the spotlight on individuals who have transitioned away from homosexuality to heterosexuality.
The Family Research Council is a self-described "Christian" organization that has taken a very anti-gay right rights stance. They claim homosexuality is a choice that people make that can reversed through prayer. The Family Research Council, because of their defamation and attempts at demonizing LGBT people has been accused of being a hate organization.
On Wednesday, July 31st, the "Massive Rally Of Ex-Gays" was held in Washington. The FRC was hoping for thousands.
Less than 10 people showed up. It is unclear if any of the people there were "Ex-Gay."

Hilarious.
Exodus International used to claim 10's of thousands had 'changed' their orientation. Now the president Alan Chambers has shut down Exodus, apologised for all the harm they caused over 37 years and said that 99.99% of members had not changed their orientation.
Why is this of interest? Was there also a rally for those who used to beat off? Is it any of my business what other consenting adults do sexually or did sexually?
All I would say about it is that I hate it when folks try to make it my business--such as with "rallies" pro, anti, whatever on any sort of sexual behavior. I don't care. I'd rather watch the grass grow.
People are "gay" or they are not, much the same as those with Red Hair or those who are Left Handed.
You are, or you are not .... Red Headed, Left Handed or "Gay".
