Wow at all the black people in denial in this thread!!!

1. What about Obama and his lack of his father in his life? His father had absolutely no interest in helping to raise him.

2. Then what about Obama's Father Day speech back in 2008?

Obama's Father's Day Speech Urges Black Fathers To Be More Engaged In Raising Their Children

Quote:
Barack Obama and his family celebrated Father's Day by attending Sunday services at the Apostolic Church of God on Chicago's South Side, where Obama gave a speech highly critical of absent black fathers. He urged them to remember their filial responsibilities and be more engaged in raising their children. Obama reminded the congregation of his own experience growing up without a father, saying that if he could be anything in life, he would be a good father to his daughters.
So are you all saying that Obama is lying? That there is no problem with absentee fathers in the black community?

For one, it isn't like I care what Obama has to say, I think most of what he says is a lie. I also don't consider there to be anything such as the black community. My community is not black, it is a mixture of backgrounds. Also, you will find more absentee fathers in lower income areas than in middle and upper class areas, which is also true for most races. I am not absent from my childrens lives, so how am I responsible for someone elses? I believe in personal responsibility.
