Have black Americans received $3 million from Obama? Is America benefiting from this investment?

OK - it's nice and positive - except that we have no money.

U.S. Department of Labor announces $3 million grant solicitation to support African Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative in Uganda

ILAB's African Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative is designed to support President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative. The president's program is focused on investing in the next generation of African leaders and strengthening partnerships between the United States and Africa.

The ILAB-funded effort will address exploitative child labor by providing vulnerable youth ages 14 through 18 with education and vocational training and, for those of appropriate age, decent work opportunities. It is also intended to promote leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement by youth within their communities.

There are a bunch of black 14-18 year olds in this country that could use a positive program to change their life for the better.

If Obama came up with 3 million dollars for centers for black youth in inner cities, is that something that you would be for? Or would you blame him for doing that, as well?

This is better than just giving them food. The food aid programs hurt African countries more than help, but this is education. It's only $3 million though.

Plus Africa is the next great resource frontier.
China has been there for a while and we're playing catch up.

I would still say we don't have the money (because we REALLY don't have it), but at least it would be an investment that helps this country.

By the time the community organizers got done with that 3 million dollars there would be nothing left to hand out.
