Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, said Friday on Fox News that “attempts to destroy the whistleblowers” within the John McCain campaign meant that she was banned from talking about Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright during the 2008 presidential election campaign.
“Couldn’t talk about that. Couldn’t talk about Obama’s lack of knowledge, and job inexperience, and the things that he said, like America had 57 states, things like that,” she continued. “This is important for Americans to understand. I was not allowed to talk about things like that because those elitists, those who are the brainiacs in the GOP machine running John McCain’s campaign at the time, said that the media would eat us alive if we brought up these things.”
Palin, the professional victim.
Actually, I believe her, because John "go-along-to-get-along" McCain (and his "brilliant" strategist, Karl Rove) refused to engage in any discussions of who Barack Obama was. He refused to challenge his qualifications, refused to challenge his ideology (his radical roots and associations), and instead was attempting to win an election by showing Americans what a "nice guy" he was.
In the meantime, Barack Obama was running around bashing Republicans (especially George Bush), and everything that America stands for. He spoke of "fundamentally transform[ing] the United States of America;" yet, nobody asked what he meant by that. He spoke of "Hope and Change," without telling us what kind of "change" he was talking about.
Palin is right, because Karl Rove is also non-confrontational. Karl Rove ran Romney's campaign too, and look what happened? Romney was forced to play "Mr. Nice Guy" too. Romney knows where our problems lie. But he too, was muzzled to a large extent. Thank you Karl.
Remember, it was McCain (along with John Boehner), who publically blasted Michele Bachman for the letter sent to various Inspectors General regarding the influence of Islam by the infiltration of Muslims into high places in the US government. But for McCain, and others who are in denial about the threat Islam represents to America, "offending" Muslims by calling into question their motives ("civilization jihad" is not an imagined threat, it is the means by which Muslims plan to Islamicize the Western World) is not to be tolerated.
Rove's influence on the GOP is the reason why the GOP so often "shoots itself in the foot." At the same time, the "Tea Party" gains ground, and is getting conservatives elected, and has been hugely successful, while RINO republicans are failing. The RINOs are also failing the American people.
And the Democrat war on women continues - Palin is referred to as a "hog".
Shades of "lipstick on a pig.
The Democrats aren't warring with women, Harrier. The ladies prefer us by 12%.
Why is that? Because the Democrats aren't interested in telling women what the can and can't do with their bodies, and because we support their issues.
Obamacare makes a huge difference for the working poor women's health, and as big a difference in the costs of keeping their children healthy.
Those are just a few of the reasons why the Democrats got the female vote in the last 2 elections, and will get 'em again in 2016. That's a mighty friendly 'war'.
And, as it turned out, Palin was especially unpopular with female voters. Everything she says and does insults most women, and Sarah wants all the progress her sisters have made to be undone. i don't recall her ever being called a hog, but if she was, it was probably a woman who said it.
But Palin won't ever run again, so it's all irrelevant anyway. 40 years from now, folks are going to read about her and wonder what the hell went wrong with the Republican party in 2008. Nominating her could prove to be the worst mistake of the 21st century.

Only in your delusions. Get a clue: "Putting lipstick on a pig" is a common expression popularized by used car dealers who'd put a fresh coat of paint on a junker and pass it off as better than it really was. Many other politicians---including Republicans---have used the phrase on the campaign trial long before Obama did. He was in no way calling Palin hog or pig, so stop the fake outrage. If it's not fake then get an education.
she is very nice but i think its time to realize there are a few things that are not working out, one of them the big push on feminism . she may be ok but its well time overall for the girls to take a break...and get down to business, i don't think any women should be in politic's now, not after...what does it matter now...no man would of said that in a million years and its basically excused only because a women and things are easily looked away from...there is no time to look away anymore , it happens all the time and is leaking out in habit to everyone over time through the years...its weakening the system in a subtle way...theres no more time for ..okay if you want to try give er a go....those hearings and what has been seen would never of happened in an all male environment, plain and simple....the guys are now acting and expecting to get away with stuff "just because...like a women....can't argue, the proof is in the pudding.

I really do not believe you just said that...seriously.
And the "other side" refers to the first lady as MoooChelle".
And you have no idea what consitutes a war on women. For reference, go to banjomike's reply #77 for an education.
The pot/kettle comparison fits.
