Wash the diapers in the sink or bathtub. Grandma did it, so can you.
But if they have to do that, they may mess these up:

It's up to her, it's her child. However, once she found out she was pregnant, it's wise to start PLANNING AHEAD. She's 41 years old, you'd think she had picked up enough knowledge in those 41 years to plan ahead. She should have been thinking "I'm pregnant, and I don't have a job, and I don't have a husband/wife to help me out, now is a good time to take action."

Tell me why I'd want to spend almost a whole 10 bucks for all that, and do all that work for my child? I mean, why? It's far easier to sit around (since I don't have a job) and complain about how I can't afford things, and how my government needs to help me out more.

Its truly not a political controversy how to clean a poop diaper.
Lol. This is one of the more fascinating threads on here in awhile. Who knew diapers and poop were so controversial? Folks are really passionate about it.

My daughter (who is pregnant) is opting to use cloth diapers because they are more economical. She told me about the ones they have now - talk about high tech. They're self adhesive - no more pins. There's an outer waterproof part like little pants and the diaper is inserted inside. I asked her what happens when my grandson (who's going to be a genius) figures out how to take them off?

I asked her if she was going to be like some people with kids I've visited - where you need to use the bathroom and they have THREE toilets and you find dirty diapers soaking in two of them. She was appalled that I'd even mention it.

But hey, I think she's making the right choice. My kids wore both cloth and disposable. Washing diapers was no big deal - I even hung them on the line. My kids never had rashes when I used cloth diapers - when they wore disposables, they sometimes did.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me though if the Dems push free diapers. The government already gives the children of food stamp recipients free breakfast. I guess using the stamps to buy breakfast for their kids and making sure they are fed before school is simply too tough. Asking them to use cloth diapers would simply be a crime against humanity.

and PARTISAN?

or BI-partisan, since it seems it has united a lot of folks on the opposite sides of the spectrum

I didn't know either until I joined a different site for a parenting forum 5 years ago. Many of those ladies thought people were child abusers if they didn't breastfeed and monsters for using "sposies" instead of cloth diapers as they are horrible for the environment (disposables since people hardly ever scrape the poop out of them like you are suppose to).

They would crack me up with their conversations more than POC here about breast feeding, cloth diapering, and circumcision vs "in tact" penises. Really interesting stuff the things people are passionate about.

Oddly enough, the posters who vilified people for NOT cloth diapering were usually liberally minded individuals. The breast feeders ran the gamut but the "in tact" crowd was skewed liberal as well and they really did say that people who circumcised little boys were child abusers!!
