But conservatives are driven by hatred for millions of their fellow citizens and so they tend to not care about reality when they are lying on millions of Americans.
I don't hate them but it's insane that I'm supposed to pay taxes so they can lay around doing nothing with their lives.

They should get 6 weeks of government handouts and since that's the standard maternity leave for working women, after 6 weeks they should go to work and work to support the children they decided to have.

No one should expect a life of government handouts simply for irresponsibly breeding. A few weeks -- no problem but the growing number of children being born into Medicaid and foodstamps households shows there are major problems in the welfare system. No able bodied person should be living off the fewer and fewer taxpayers.

Default This will explain it to you----

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and Local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0.00 per year.
Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 .00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month Federal Rent Subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year.
Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc..

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month..

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same elementary school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches, while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Now, when they reach college age, Joe Legal's kids may not get into a State School and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Joe has been paying for State Schools through his taxes, while Jose Illegal's kids "go to the head of the class" because they are a minority.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

There is a five year max lifetime cap on welfare. This has been law since 1996.

HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO BE REPEATED? They cannot stay on welfare their whole lives.

There is work requirement. HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAVE TO BE REPEATED.

This has been law since 1996. Most people do not stay on food stamps the whole life or medicaid or any form of assistance you are just plain ignorant and hateful.

I know you are but what am I? How childish of you to resort to stupid insults. There is NOT a 5 year max on welfare --- people can mooch off Medicaid and food stamps their whole lives. Housing vouchers have no time limit. Each baby gets the mother another 6 years of WIC coupons.

The only 5 year limit is for the free cash giveaway program called TANF which shouldn't exist at all. Why reward someone with free money simply for having a baby she can not afford?

6 weeks is what working women get -- and they must use vacation pay in many cases. Why should the welfare types be special? They can get their maternity care, a 6 week leave and then get to work so they can support themselves.

If the women aren't having babies expecting to be given the handouts, then they shouldn't mind when they are told that in 6 weeks they can be working for their living.

Jose Illegal makes $15 an hour and pays no tax!! Yeah this is a good premise to start a reasonable discussion. Let's bring that wage down to below minimum wage and start again with the payment of taxes. You think your the only ones paying taxes. I suppose the sacrificing hard working tax paying american is the Joe Legal. How about Jose Legal? He exists and you wouldn't be able to deal with the life he's been dealt.

Excellent post!

Highlights EXACTLY the problem with illegal immigrants flooding the country.

Sounds like the problem is making money under the table, actually . I've worked in restaurants where most of the back-of-the-house employees were illegal immigrants, and they all have fake social security numbers and pay their payroll taxes, not to mention sales taxes, gas taxes, etc., while not actually receiving any of these services. Not to mention that anyone making under a certain amount of money doesn't pay income tax regardless of whether they're immigrants.

I think you should fight poor people gaming the system rather than immigrants. Assuming you're not already prejudiced and/or predispositioned with anger, you shouldn't have a problem making this switch.

"Immigrants"? I think it is illegal aliens gaming the system and they aren't "immigrants". We have enough of our own home grown gamers without adding illegal aliens to the mix.
