In 1965 I pumped gas and cleaned the station for $1.00 an hour and was happy.

And yes I lived on my wages...

All I know is as I've climbed the career ladder, the jobs have gotten progressively easier. The higher up you go the more you have people under you doing a lot of the grunt work.

Who is working harder? The guy stocking shelves at Walmart, or the guy at Walmart's corporate office editing spreadsheets of sales?
Who is using more brainpower? This is a knowledge based economy and your pay reflects that.

Slavery meant profits for Plantation Owners in the past. Low minimum wages in Fast Food industry means billions of dollars in profit for CEO and share holders and Wall Street. Nothing has changed in 150 years. Same old mindset. That time also they used to say that we will not survive if slavery is not there. Now also Burger will become 10 dollars if minimum wages are increased. Scare tactics and mindless propaganda.

Oh get over it, one doesn't want to better themselves, make a better life for their family?

Then they can get by on $7.75 an hour cleaning commodes....

Lemme guess, you supported OWS...

There are numerous disgusting jobs but only in America are people too good to dirty their hands to do them and support their families...

Wahhhh, I just want my life to drift by and vegetate and have someone else feed, clothe and house me.....
