And apparently never will. We see it, in this forum and on the news, how the GOP is trying to parlay the latest scandals as a Democratic Party War on Women, while completely misunderstanding what that phrase means. And the usual suspects lap it up and beg for more. Keep it up, GOP, this stupidity will cost you. A good Op Ed in the Post.

The GOP misunderstands the ‘war on women’

The GOP misunderstands the ‘war on women’

You can’t say Republicans lack for chutzpah. The cynical right-wing message-men have come up with a new insult to our intelligence – and to millions of US women. As Buzzfeed reported Friday, Republicans are now spinning a series of scandals to try to prove the Democrats are the party with the real “War on Women.” That’s just silly, and they know it.

...To the contrary, the GOP has shown nothing but disdain for the real needs of actual women. Consider what the party stands for: Allowing bosses and insurance companies to discriminate against women; forcing raped women to carry their rapist’s fetus; requiring insurance coverage for Viagra but not for the pill; defunding Planned Parenthood, Head Start, childcare, and services for domestic abuse victims; conscripting doctors to violate women with medically unnecessary (and thus punitive) procedures; and redefining rape so more rapists walk free. That’s an awful agenda, and women know it.

To me, the war on women is when women are treated like objects, not worthy of any respect.

That fits Clinton, Weiner, Kennedy. All Dems. To repeated cheat on the woman you should be protecting smacks of a war on women.

It is disrespectful, to be sure, reprehensible, of course, but what the GOP is terming a war on women is a misnomer.

LOL.

As opposed to Newt Gingrich, David "Diaper Dave" Vitter, Bob Gore, Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and dozens more cheatin' GOP politicians you never heard of.

It amuses me no end to see cons trying to make this a left-right thing, as if only one side does it.

Though I suppose if you really are executing a legislative war on women -- to impact all women, not just your wives -- you do have to try to distract and disguise it with something.

If the GOP has a war on women, does that mean the Democrats have a war on unborn children?

Ya'ed think by now they'd realize every time they attempt to mount that high moral horse the inevitable result is the SPLAT! when they fall.

Don't you mean Vitter, O'Reilly, Cain, Thomas, Newt, Foley, Craig, Lee, DesJarlais?

Or do those not count as many are gay sex scandals from "family values" republicans

Since the left wants to retain the right to determine the meaning of "war on women," can we acknowledge that it's because they made it up and want to protect the copyrights?
