Doesn't turn a left handed person into a right handed person. It MAY make them ambidextrous. But underneath, they were born left hand dominant. Unless they STOP being able to use the left hand, they are not "ex left handers."

Pointless, of course, because sexuality is not like handedness, except that it's innate and effortless (except where one must try to "learn" to also use the other hand).

Any ex-gay that has to think of the same sex to have sex with the opposite sex..... is still gay.

Unless the DESIRE is there, the feeling of complete NATURAL attraction to the opposite sex is there, effortless and enough to stir the loins the way the same sex does/did, you are not an "ex gay."

Every individual is different. I am right handed but I use my left hand to answer phones, which most people do not do.

If gays can be trained to be attracted to the opposite sex and enjoy the sex (even if they are still gay), why not give it a try?

Apples and oranges.

Besides, the "ex-gay" movement is actually not "ex-gay."

Typically, all it amounts to is controlling one's desires for what is natural and normal for them - attraction to same sex - and WORKING to engage in romantic relations with someone of the opposite sex.

A lot of times, a lesbian and a gay man will get together and "work together" to achieve this goal. But that's not really changing one's ORIENTATION. It's changing one's BEHAVIOR. Two completely different things.

An experiment I'd love to see on TV is hooking up "ex gays" to phallometric meters, and then showing them images of strapping men vs. bikini babes, to see if there really is a "cure." I doubt a single self-professed ex-gay would volunteer for that! The body never lies.

WHY give it a try?

As long as they do not force people, I see no problem.
Controlling one's desire is a very normal thing to do. We all do that for different reasons.

If "ex-gays" are happy with their lives, so be it. I won't be signing up for the "training". I like myself just the way I am.

It's up to their choice. If they want to try, then go for it.
Maybe some of them want to have a traditional family and raise children; others want to do it for religious reasons, etc. As I said, it should be an option.

Maybe if you actually understood the difference between innate feelings and physical appearance you wouldn't love it so much.

Why? Because it goes against their nature, and is pointless. Conversion therapy is dismissed universally as complete quackery. Like magic elixirs and exorcisms.

Honestly though, if an adult wants to TRY to learn how to get aroused by the opposite sex, and then go through the motions of joyless, rote and mission-oriented sex, then go for it.

But there's a problem when ignorant people use the fact that someone can engage in certain ACTS after training and then say that this means people CHOOSE their sexuality!

Plenty of "porn lesbians" (in straight porn compilations, no less) learn how to fake it with another woman and engage in same-sex acts. Some even admit that it feels good. But if they're not seeking out women naturally, then they're just straight women engaging in homosexual acts.
