Look at this board ..... how many threads are there are a "real" issues?
Plenty of threads on the "divisive" stuff that the Politicians and Media promote - threads on slavery, white minority, guns, racist this, racist that, racist, racist, racist all over the place. War on Women.
Why should the CongressCritters bother to do anything when it's pretty clear that the citizens just don't care about what they do .... or don't do?
There is no substance - fluff and never ending division is all that people seem to care about. Congress gives the voters exactly what they want.
Who do you think creates this divide?
DO you ever hear a politician talk about a serious issue in detail? No its all the divisisve rhetoric that means NOTHING.
They are supposed to be LEADERS. Instead they gain their power by feeding off the emotion of the constituants who are not politically savy.
That's really the problem, and the foundation of most of the legitimate charges of hypocrisy of the Republicans: It's dead easy to accomplish nothing, which is their cynic, self-centered, antisocial goal. To accomplish their goal, even in part, and then blame the other guys for them accomplishing their goal, is the epitome of corrupted "logic".
I can't believe America elected these egotistical morons! They make resolution after resolution that means NOTHING and can't "play nice" and settle on important issues for the people. Talk about a waste of taxpayer money!

Why are you complaining NOW? It has been going on for about as long as we have had a Congress.
"Sessions A term of Congress is divided into two "sessions", one for each year; Congress has occasionally been called into an extra or special session. A new session commences on January 3 each year unless Congress decides differently. The Constitution requires Congress meet at least once each year and forbids either house from meeting outside the Capitol without the consent of the other house." Can't say I blame the House of Representatives for going home. The House has passed numerous jobs and energy bills, all of which would create jobs and help middle class families. Any bill that makes sense is DOA in the Senate because of Senator "NO", Harry Reid.
Add into the mix a failed President who is more interested in playing golf than leading, and you've got the perfect recipe for gridlock.
If people wanted change they should have elected Mitt Romney and thrown out the do-nothing Democrat Senate majority. But that didn't happen, so we get more gridlock and more stagnation.
The best thing that could happen to this country is to give the elected officials their pay right after the election and tell them to go home. The less they're in session, the less they screw up !
