Sunday is President Obama's birthday. Apparently Muslim militants are planning more Benghazi-like attacks that day, maybe to get his attention.
We've never had to implement a mass shutdown of our diplomatic posts like this, in the history of the United States.

I saw that and its interesting. It really just says that the middle east especially is more a hot spot than ever and the so called Arab spring has not made it more stable. I see reports that Muslim radical form outside have start to flow into Syria and take territory back as well has seeing Egypt just set for the same outside support. Its become more a Sunni/****e conflict like so many other thru history as the sides line up.
The rebels have crossed over into Iraq and that's turning into another mess.

At least Bush had the balls to bomb the crap out of Iraq, which put the fear in countries that harbored terrorist organizations. The message was clear: mess with us and we will destroy your country. This is not say that Bush did the right thing going into Iraq but he had balls. Obama has made the US look weak by his inaction and thinking he could change the mindset of terrorists - that he was really going to change the world. He truly thought that he was going to put an end to terrorists and terrorism by winning their minds and hearts by supporting, placating and pandering to them. On top of that, arming rebels thinking that he was doing the right thing because they were going to take down Assad. Did he think the US was going to stroll into Syria and those weapons were going to be turned over to our military and all of a sudden the terrorists and the US would enter into some kind of peaceful partnership?
All Obama has done is open a can of cancer that is spreading throughout the Middle East. The only one responsible for this mess is Obama. Everything he has done to bring about the situation today was by choice. With this newest threat, do you think he has a "choice" to shut down embassies and consulates? He's doing what any president would HAVE to do, although no president has ever put himself in this situation. He has put the lives of thousands of Americans in danger.
How come he didn't make an announcement about the embassy and consulate closures? Does he think people don't notice his absence? People are used to his absence when there is a crisis. He only makes an appearance when he thinks it's going to serve his own purpose and include it his "legacy" that he is writing, which will be all about how he was the greatest president that ever lived.

The State Dept has ordered embassies to close on Sunday in the ME, including Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and possibly will remain closed for a few days following. Apparently a plot to attack embassies by Al Qaida has been discovered. Also worldwide travel warnings are being issued to Americans which will extend to August 31.
How is this possible? Al Qaida has been decimated and was on the run.
Well, let's see, did we do anything, anything at all to the terrorists who made multiple attacks on the US and British embassies or the Red Cross in Libya? Nope, they got away clean. I'd say that it looks like al Qaeda's of the world don't have any reason to fear reprisals, and I really wonder if we will do anything even if we are attacked this weekend.

He did amp up the hatred. Cut the head off of one leader of a terrorist organization, there are 10 to take it's place. Killing leaders of AlQaida is no different than killing a general and his platoon in the US army. There is always someone to replace them.

I don't get it. What is the controversy here? Apparently there's a high level threat to certain embassies overseas so they are closing them for safety reasons.
