Well 65 doesn't do anything for them as SS is now 66.
But the SS reports don't back that up. We are not seeing 300,000 new signups for SS every month are we ?
From SS here's how many are getting SS. That was not a 300,000 increase.
May: 54,265,000
June: 54,274,000
SS puts out a monthly statistical report. All you need to do is look at the breakdown.
SS does not compare nor report increases month over month. You have to do it yourself.
The number do not back up "everyone's retiring" at all.
And you are making a false equivalency. Retirement does not mean that they all apply for SSI, you dont get full benefits till 67(not 66).
If you were born in 1960 or later your retirement age is 67.
If you were born in 1954 it is 66.
From 1955-1959 it is 66 and add 6 months for every year.
The hardworking middle class taxpayer was paying for nothing.
That's 1.5 million hardworking middle class people formerly employed by government. This does not take into consideration the number of jobs losses in state, county and municipal governments which is even greater than the loss of fed jobs.
BTW, I have known plenty of " hardworking" people employed by some form of government and plenty of " hardly working" people employed in the private sector.

SS publishes net totals by month for those 65 or older who are receiving benefits. This reflects change from those who no longer receive SS, presumably because they have passed on.
The net difference between Dec, 2012 and June, 2013 is + 628,000.
