So exporting democracy to the Middle East has failed and the supporters of said policies that have resulted in untold American deaths are having a change of heart. Gee thanks.

Quote:
Mr. Gingrich has at times expressed some doubts about the U.S. capacity for nation-building, which has dominated U.S. policy under the last two presidencies. But he said he has now formed his own conclusions about their failures.

“My worry about all this not new,” Mr. Gingrich said. “But my willingness to reach a conclusion is new.”

In a clear sign his thinking has shifted, Mr. Gingrich also said it is time for the GOP to heed some of the anti-interventionist ideas offered by the libertarian Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, another foreign policy skeptic and the tea party-backed conservative.

About time. Though words may be nice, actions are much better. Let's see some votes on withdrawing and formally ending the authorization to use force from 2001

Does Newt matter? I don't think he is even one of the crazier republicans.

He never was really far to the right really. One has to remember he worked with Bill Clinton on the budget and cuts that brought about Clintons budget. Its more to do with seeing politics as the art of compromise. Just as Tip O Neal worked with Reagan on compromise .Bush knew that he had to compromise to pass and get support for his Medicare Drug bill also.

What did Obama compromise to get Obamacare? Cannot blame that disaster on any Conservative....

Newt agreed with Ron Paul a lot, during the Primary debates.

Let me set up camp in your front yard. How long till your fed up and you are going to kick me off, or at least try to the death?
