Good to hear our ex president is doing well. At 67 and only needing a stint, that's not too bad.

Default George W. Bush Heart Stent Surgery

Dubya always appeared to be in good shape. Hope he licks this thing and is back on his feet soon.

Oh yeah, I'm sure he'll be one way or another, doctors hate to see patients lie around, usually in their minor procedures, they'll have someone up and walking around the next day. I've known people who had other procedures and operations done, and the hospitals with the insurance companies tried to kick them out the next day or the day after that.

I don't think George is going to like the diet and exercise program they'll have outlined for him, most people don't is all I'm going by though.

They did 2 stints (one was a 90% blockage) the next morning, and he is still going strong now at 98. The first 6 weeks is the danger period after a stint, every day is better than the day before. He had no previous warning, ate a very healthy diet and had no cholesterol problems prior to the incident. Thinking back, we all agreed that his color had not looked good that week and he seemed unusually tired.

Pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you.
I've spent 20 years working with, among others, heart patients undergoing stress tests. The bolded phrase in your post is the one phrase that gets the undivided attention of any cardiologist. If ever you feel like that, or someone says it, get an ambulance and I mean right away.

As for his father, I remember back, many years ago, when he was still Pres. he had some type of heart problem, but it wasn't clogged arteries. I want to say, it had something to do with his heart rate, maybe an irregular heart beat?
George, Barbara, and the family dog had Graves Disease as I recall. I think they ablated his thyroid with radioactive iodine (I-131).

And take several baby aspirin (80 mg) or a couple adult aspirin while making the call. It may just save your life.
I feel for him, while the stents don't hurt except when they expand them (got 5 myself) and only for a couple of seconds the following med regimen is where the real pain is. Statins,Plavix and aspirin OH MY!

This is very true. I live on Plavix, Lipitor, Aspirin, vascular dilators and beta blockers. You look at my arm for more than 5 seconds and it bleeds.

I hope George pulls through this okay.

I didn't know he was susceptible to having heart problems. I wonder what types of medications he's been on for his heart? He must have had some kinds of warnings something wasn't right, either chest pains, dizziness etc..

Thanks, I hope he has good results to.

May you continue to avoid this as well.
