Why should the GOP listen to the guy who lost in 2012, Romney, the guy who lost in 2008, McCain, or the guy who lost in 1996, Dole. And if the GOP is not going to use the only power they have in congress, the power of the purse, then they have no power to lose. They might as well let the people know that they are the party that opposes this terrible law so that when it's effects become known the democrats will be the ones to pay at the polls.

If ObamaCare is such a terrible law, why aren't the GOP just letting it go through without hindering it, that way they can have an I told you so attitude in 2016 and win? Well, I'll tell you why. They are scared that ObamaCare is actually going to work and none of the doom and gloom they are predicting is going to happen. Anyone with a minute amount of thinking capacity can see that is what is happening. Either that, or the GOP is really that bad at political strategy

Mitt had the same healthcare in Massachusetts. What a hypocrite. As a matter of fact, many of the policies that Obama wanted to push on the nation, Mitt already had them going when he was Governor. Another reason he lost. Some people did check his record. Republicans don't get away with being hypocrites.

Maybe because some of them put the country first, before politics.

He's actually warning the GOP not to shutdown the government over defunding Obamacare. That's actually very smart advice. Every previous government shutdown has blown up in the GOP's face, and this will be no exception. Going into the 2014 election, the House has the lowest polling numbers in history with a demonstrated record of obstructionism, irrationality, and lack of any demonstrated leadership. If they 'succeed' in shutting down the government, they will lose big-time in the next election.

Forgive me if I don't buy into the "we have to work hard to save you" excuse that the GOP trumps out. That's very nanny state of them to have that mindset. The problem with the GO is that once people get used to ObamaCare, then the GOP is in real big trouble. That's the problem. I've read on the internet many of the same arguments were used during the Medicare battle, that Medicare was going to be the end of healthcare as they have known it, blah blah blah. Medicare is now the most popular program after SS, ironically being overwhelmingly supported by the GOP base, the same people opposed to ObamaCare.

I'm predicting that the GOP is going to lose a very significant amount of seats next election. Hard to tell who will have the majority at this point in time, though. So far, I'm thinking that the GOP is not going to enjoy the comfortable majority that it has now, at best a razor thin majority that will mean cowtowing to the GOP members in swing and more traditional Democrat districts

I was very fond of the president I thought Romney could have been if he had been allowed to do his thing instead of carrying water for the major financial backers of American Crossroads and Americans for Prosperity ( aka Americans for Koch Industries).

People can get used to anything it doesn't matter how bad it is. If you are looking forward to your healthcare being run by the IRS I can't really argue with you.
