Actually, no. Just the fact that these idiots would even consider such a ban is disconcerting. It reflects their "Big Government must control the people" mentality.

I think we are all aware of our sad history of banning books, but I think banning words takes this problem to a whole new level.
Yep, pretty much political axe grinding but what comes around goes around.
I have to keep hearing inaccurate claims that they don't teach evolution etc. in KS blah blah blah because once upon a time a school board got infiltrated by a couple young earthers and when they tried to implement their changes they got stripped of power and voted out.
Just like in this instance, nothing actually changed.
Kinda funny too seeing as how if the rest of the country had as good of public education as KS we wouldn't be having many of these conversations about school quality.

I especially dislike whitewashing books like Tom Sawyer of racial language or "cleaning up" history of dirty laundry like slavery under the guise of correctness.

so you are comparing singular words and actual book topics? that is a really good comparison. so for instance, banning the use of the word "cancer" is similar to banning a book about raping sea horses? bravo my friend, bravo.
If you actually read the article, most of the words were suggested because they would be upsetting to evangelical christians and other social conservatives.
