It's silly to stick your head out of the window and think you've gained some insight into the global climate's temperature averages. Your excuse for having it debunked "for you" has no merit.

Don't let that change your mind, though. That science isn't going to stick to itself!

It is called common sense. Ever hear of it?

It's not common sense at all, actually.

You Libers will never live with out your plastics.
I think you're absolutely right. The future is plastics, as the man said. So how about as near to 100% recycling of plastics as possible? How about reduction in packaging and plastic bags? How about plastics from vegetable oil (I've seen this in bags and clamshell packaging, it seems to work)? These are the sorts of things we Liberal progressives actually support, not this nonsense about reducing emissions to zero and banning all plastics and forcing women to stop shaving their legs and stuff. That's right-wing boogieman stuff. You sound like Rush Limbaugh.

What "myth?"

For a "myth," it sure was mentioned a lot in magazines and newspapers.

The facts are, when there was a slight decrease in temperature in the '70s, there was a "global cooling/ice age" scare. When there was a slight increase in temperature in the '90s, there was a "global warming" scare.

Blizzard in Central NJ

OMG. When will the insanity end?!! The information is ubiquitous. Everyone should understand by now that global warming/climate change does not mean that every place gets warmer. In fact, on the contrary...

Quote:
The world is getting warmer, which should mean warmer winters - right? Wrong - a new study shows that global warming produces colder winters and heavier dumps of snow for large swathes of the northern hemisphere.

In Canada it was dubbed 'Snowmageddon', while the Brits called it 'The Big Freeze'. Across Europe and the eastern United States temperatures plummeted for weeks on end during the winter of 2009/2010 and heavy snowfall caused major disruption. And then it happened all over again during the winter of 2010/2011, causing many to question whether global warming was happening at all.

Now research suggests that colder winters have become more frequent over the past two decades, and were likely a product of global warming.

From the article:

Quote:
The results suggest that conservative media consumption (specifically Fox News and Rush Limbaugh) decreases viewer trust in scientists, which in turn decreases belief that global warming is happening. In contrast, consumption of non-conservative media (specifically ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, The New York Times, and The Washington Post) increases consumer trust in scientists, and in turn belief that global warming is happening.
So basically when someone who isn't an expert in a field hears something said in the media about that field then they are influenced towards believing that.

What Earth shattering news.

This is just stating the obvious.

Fox news is now the cause because blaming Bush got worn out.

True, but one can also surmise that FOX watchers are less likely to be scientifically literate and far more likely to believe in conspiracy theories, so even if they did not watch the network they would be more likely to not believe in climate change.

Watching FOX reinforces their natural tendency to reject science.

Can't rep you again. Many of the "plastic" bags we use up here are made from corn starch.
It's always all or nothing with these folks; no middle ground. It's not possible in their warped little world to be a good steward of the environment without living in a cave and wearing hemp underpants.
