Looks like a good move. Robin Williams is Dwight D. Eisenhower. It has an 85% critics rating (and 94% audience 'want to see') on Rotten Tomatoes with a well known cast and tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. If people want to boycott over an actress who portrays 1 first lady that's their prerogative. I only see 2 or 3 movies a year so it doesn't affect me. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lee_daniels_the_butler/

Well, the image I posted also claims that the cast is "full of sickening liberals." But Hollywood is generally liberal anyways, so no surprise there.
I question if the people boycotting this film actually ever watch recent movies, as they are most likely going to be the anti-mainstream/counter-culture types.
I wasn't going to see it at the movies, because it's about a played out era in racist America. it's time people made movies about racism that happened after the civil rights movement in the 80s, 90s, 2000s. We just saw Fruitvale Station not too long ago. I knew the story already, but my husband didn't. he left the theater visibly shaken and disturbed. besides the subject of The Butler, the acting looks a bit overdone, especially by Oprah. I love Oprah, but the scenes on the trailer are over the top. I am truly surprised this movie has an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.
tasted it once many years ago, and while i liked it, it is far too salty for my tastes to eat often, and now it is far too expensive to buy, and even if it werent, i would have to eliminate it from my diet anyway due to being on dialysis.
