If Obama had done what Bush did with Iraq, I can guarantee they'd be calling for his head to be mounted on a spike in front of the Whitehouse.
Well, Obama's put an end to the Iraq idiocy, kept the economy from falling off the edge into another depression, bailed out the auto industry, got OBL, streamlined healthcare, reduced the deficit, cut the size of government and the conservatards still want his head on a pike.
Why, yes. And the CIA has later reported that UNSCOM had Iraq so off-balance, they were destroying both their stuff and the evidence. The accounting sucked. (We have the Iraq war to thank for that bit of intelligence, btw. It's ironic that it delivered the evidence for its weak foundation, no?)

No US government liked having Saddam Hussein in power - well, no US government after Bush the Elder. Saddam was our buddy during the Iraq-Iran war, of course. But there's a difference between desiring regime change and invading to force it.
