Oil still holds a near monopoly on the transportation fuel market, but as soon as electric vehicles started coming out, there was a lot of complaint from the right. But there is a new threat to the oil monopoly, Natural Gas. Natural gas vehicle sales tiny, but picking up they may become a bigger force than electric. Will oil-loving right wingers start attacking NG cars?

They already have, just like they continue to attack hybrids.

Not this constitutional conservative.
I have two wells fracked and pumping and part of the oil well process is the pocket of natural gas that is near. Most of the time they burn it off, right after they hit oil. Sometimes they cap it.

The first well they had a flame. I asked if I was getting paid for burning off my mineral resources, that I'm to be paid for?
They capped it and trapped it in a tank.
The second well has been capped and trapped.

So, if you are pumping oil, you should be set up to trap the NG. If not, you are losing revenue on the gas they are venting or burning off.

Compressed Natural Gas = A Bomb Waiting to Happen.

Anyone who is opposed to consuming oil for fuel, should be even more concerned with consuming natural gas for fuel. Using natural gas as a combustible would release large amounts of methane into the atmosphere, which is 25 times worse than CO2 as a "greenhouse gas."

I hope we have NG cars. They run remarkably well. My fiancee's dad's pickup truck runs on dual 'petrol' and LPG aka autogas (yes, I know, not NG but still)

Emits CO2 as well. But, you and I both know that isn't a problem, unless you're a warmist

Conservatives don't have a problem with electric vehicles or hybrids.

They have a problem with the government using tax money to subsidize them.

You should at least know what you are arguing against before you start arguing.

The real question is will the green lunatic enviro nazi's declare nat gas evil. Ooops they are already doing that very thing.......

"Natural gas drillers exploit government loopholes, ignore decades-old environmental protections, and disregard the health of entire communities. "Fracking," a violent process that dislodges gas deposits from shale rock formations, is known to contaminate drinking water, pollute the air, and cause earthquakes. If drillers can’t extract natural gas without destroying landscapes and endangering the health of families, then we should not drill for natural gas."
