I have to wonder how many other illegal gun traffickers are out there.

Quote:

The biggest gun bust in city history netted more than 250 firearms, 19
arrests and a wiretap where a suspect says he fears stop-and-frisk, officials
said Monday.

A lone undercover cop bought the weapons over the last year from two
Southern weapons runners, leading to their arrest along with 17 accomplices,
officials said Monday

Maybe the police in Chicago need to do the same.
Lots of gun deaths there as well.

Great timing of propaganda to support stop and frisk.

Illinois is fairly strict but many states in proximity to Chicago that are not, easier to bring in illegal guns.

Not defending anyone. I hope the straw purchasers get the maximum sentence. Even though I don't agree with the NYC ban on guns, it's their city and I have no say in the matter. Although, if NYC banned the 1st Amendment, I would expect the citizens to go along with it like they have with the banning of the 2nd.

I do have issues with the so-called reporting.

Quote:
Guns seized in the massive bust announced Monday included a fully automatic MAC-11 pistol with a silencer as large as the gun.
It's a suppressor, not a silencer. Also, it is a real suppressor or a fake one like you get on the H&K .22LR clones that is really just a plastic barrel cover?

Quote:
The seizure also includes two SKS, a semi-automatic Soviet-era rifle. One had a laser-dot sight attached and a suppressor on the front that eliminates flash and smoke to make it harder to tell where the gunman is firing from.
It's a flash hider, not a suppressor. They can be picked up online starting at $8 plus shipping. And a laser-dot sight isn't a big deal either.

Quote:
This SKS will go through a project door, through the next door, through a wall, through the next wall into the next apartment," the source said. "That will go through a car, a cop's armor. That will go through anything we've got.
The 7.62x39 round is not that special. It has the same ballistics as a .30-30 level action rifle you see in the old westerns.

Quote:
Even after consulting a YouTube instructional video on her smartphone, she was unable to put the lethal weapon together. The undercover agreed to buy it disassembled for $1,100, officials said.
I guess no one told them the panic buying is over. A Norico SKS goes for about $350 in Mississippi.

Ok.
Someone should inform you that guns haven't been banned in NYC.

And of course this is just another day in gun land.

Straw purchases? No problem. Let's not punish law-abiding gun owners to keep hundreds of guns out of the hands of criminals. It's just not worth it.

What gunrunners?

What jackbooted thugs?

I only hear the whine of a nanny mayor.
