I haven't been to a gun show but obviously PLENTY of criminals have. Gun laws are loose hence why crazy people are able to run amok with them in this country.
Strict gun laws did prevent Lanza from buying a gun.
So he killed his mother instead to get his hands on them.

Someone intent on killing is going to find a way.

Gun control isn't about politics, it's about being realistic. I've had it with the gun nuts crying about gun control. There's a gun problem in this country & anyone who denies that or can't see that is mentally inept.

DC has a lot more poverty and social ill type issues than both Maryland and Virginia thus more criminal types. Crime actually is rising in the border DC/MD counties because so many poor blacks in DC are being pushed out by rising costs of living in DC. Basically it's still a gun access issue. Guns are too easily available to the wrong types of people.

His mom should have never been allowed to own those types of guns in the first place. I believe the only type of gun that should be legal is a simple hand gun.

Back when Norquist (Democrat) was mayor of Milwaukee he got rid of outdoor basketball courts anytime some kid was shot and murdered on one.

Taking down the basketball court never stopped gun related homicides in Milwaukee though.

Restricting access to firearms probably would decrease gun violence in some locations of the United States. Maybe. But one problem the U.S. seems to have to me is that the country is already so saturated with firearms. Which in my mind presents a dilemma. Due to the saturation of firearms in the country, if you made getting a gun harder for those that value human life to a great degree, don't really want to shot anyone, but will if need be for defense of themselves or another, then you arguably level them weaponless and defenseless to those in society that will prey on them.

The rich and famous be they liberals or conservatives can afford to purchase armed security, sometimes whole details of them. But the average Joe or Jane can't afford that.

See this video for the training and weaponry professional security for celebrities can (and may well) employ: Executive Protection & Bodyguard Training | Icon Services Corporation

CBS Interviews Executive Protection Specialist Elijah Shaw - YouTube

However, bodyguards, like the average police officer, in the United Kingdom are not allowed to carry firearms. So this begs the question that if Hollywood celebrities with liberal agendas want to disarm the average Joe not bothering anyone but just trying to walk from point A to point B without being violently assaulted or paralyzed, should not they have their bodyguards disarmed too? After all... this is the safest America any Americans have ever lived in.

I pray that you are not the one mentally inept, when some guy wants what you have at knife point.
I hope you are well vs. in the fetal position.

So is the issue guns or poverty?
You can't ban black people from buying guns, the supreme court ruled that citizens are allowed to own guns and the 14th amendment gives citizenship to anyone born on US soil.

It's fascinating that you simply refuse to look the problem in the eye. Just continue on in your blind ignorance.

ahhhh haaaaa, so, it movies and tv shows causing the violence, well, that was easy, here all along, I thought it was video games.
Actually, it's a combination of many things that desensitize and manipulate the thoughts of people, including violence on TV ... video games ... endless reporting of death and destruction in the news, and lets not forget how almost every single one of these "nuts" are taking or recently stopped taking a prescription antidepressant or anti-psychotic drug, whose drug information warns of possible side effects like aggression, violence, suicidal thoughts, and psychotic breaks.

O.K., I re-read, so again, only 1.2% of the thousands and thousands of gun dealers are illegally selling guns....there are bad people everywhere....

I think you are proving my point, not your point.

Then you wuold be wrong about gun shows....

People running amok in this country did not buy thoes guns legal...or were legal to buy them....hence illegal....

Your own link states that in 2005 there were 12,274 guns noted missing by gun dealers, what about the hundreds of thousands of guns stolen yearly?

Quote:
This number represents an estimated average of 232,400 firearms stolen each
year— about 172,000 stolen during burglaries and 60,300 stolen during other
property crimes.
Bureau of Justice Statistics Firearms Stolen during Household Burglaries and Other Property Crimes, 2005-2010

You are worried about the wrong thing....
