Why aren't Liberals protesting all of these other activities that require a photo ID? You can't apply for a job, drive a car, rent or buy a house, buy alcohol or cigarettes, open a bank account, get on a plane, pick up your prescription, etc without a photo ID. It's nearly impossible to legally function in our society without identification.
Why is it so unreasonable for someone to prove who they are when they're choosing our leaders? Because someone may have to spend $10 to get an ID? Why is preventing voter fraud a bad thing?
With how uninformed the average voter is, we should be raising the bar regarding who is able to vote rather than lowering it. Our elections are turning more and more into American Idol, a joke, a popularity contest -- rather than who is best suited to lead and fix our most imminent problems.
All good questions. I wouldn't hold my breath for any viable answers from the left though.
All of Oregon votes with mail-in ballot and I am never asked for my ID when I drop my ballot in the mail.
I haven't gone to a polling place in nearly 20 years. Mail in ballot or absentee ballot voting has always been easiest, as I don't have to interrupt my day to stand in line, and fight with a stupid machine.
- Do not need a photo ID to obtain a License
- You do not need a photo ID to open a bank account
- You are not required to provide a photo ID to rent an apartment
1) I opened a bank account without a photo ID. I used my Birth Certificate
2) I have lived in apartments (4 of them) in the last 15 years. I've never shown my photo ID to anyone of the landlords. and one was through a commercial agency.
You can now open bank accounts online. care to show me where they ask for a photo ID when I do so?
Perhaps some establishments require photo ID. But there are banks and landlords that don't.
I have never heard of any bank that doesn't require a photo ID to open a bank account if so they are rare. Most landlords do require a photo ID also to rent an apartment.
Most landlords do require a photo ID also to rent an apartment.
most landlords will ask you for a photo ID, however, they cannot force you to present one. not a requirement. I have rented enough times and have never presented a photo ID to any of my landlords; ONE of those apartments was done through a commercial rental agency.
