I think the only thing that hasn't happened yet in that part of the world under the genius foreign policy Messiah is a war between Israel and muslim countries.

From what I've read on the net, it wasn't Hezbollah. Another group shot the missiles into Israel in order to divert Hezbollahs attention away from Syria and towards Israel.

What's new about it?

So-called "Palestinians" have been firing rockets into Israel for years, sometimes on a daily basis.

These are now coming from a new direction, but they are hardly something new.

Naturally, we only get headlines when Israel strikes back. Palestinians shooting at Israelis is barely worth a mention on Page 14.

True. What's interesting however is three of the missles slipped through the iron dome.

They slipped by because they came from the South Western part of Lebanon and landed in the buffer zone. Hezbollah is in the Eastern part of Lebanon. The PLO were evicted in the early 80's. So now we wait to see what the Lebanese gov't will do about it.

Military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner told AP that the others did not land
in Israel. He said light damage to a street and vehicle in northern Israel was
likely caused from fallout from the rocket-defense system.

I think it's an expected "distraction" by Hasan Nasrallah of Hezbollah in Lebanon to try and counter the problems they are having about the Sectarian (Sunni vs Shiite) violence in Lebanon. Nasrallah and Hezbollah have turned "Resistance against Israel" into an art form and to established their legitimacy of being the ONLY armed sect after the end of their civil war in 1990.

Nasrallah supports the Butcher of Damascus (Bashar al-Assad) with his warriors and funds from Iran. His claim to fame as always been to defend Lebanon against the evil Jews - but lately he is sending his fighters to Syria to kill Sunnis and there are battles against the Sunnis in Lebanon that are supporting the rebels -- the real news is that for the first time ever, there are bombings and attacks against Hezbollah in their closed areas of Lebanon. Nasrallah has given several firey speeches lately about his support of Syria and to try and convince the Lebanese that he is still "resisting" Israel.

Quote:
Hasan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah -“I will go myself to Syria if it is necessary in the battle against the takfiris. Hezbollah and I will go to Syria to fight rebels trying to oust the Damascus regime.”
So ...... the rocket launchers have been located, they are near a couple of the Palestinian Camps in Lebanon (I assume that everyone knows that their are a half Million Palestinians stuck in Lebanese Camps with almost ZERO rights) - this is a standard practice of Hezbollah. The set up the rocket launchers near the Palestinian camps and then blame any fallout on the Palestinians after they fire off rockets into Israel.

Doesn't matter whether you like Netanyahu or not - the fact remains that he is well aware of these tactics. He will attempt (and succeed) to pacify those in Israel that want "strong response", and will downplay the entire incident because he is well aware that Nasrallah is attempting to regain some credibility after the bombing that killed over 50 in the Hezbollah neighborhood last week. The situation in Lebanon is becoming serious and the world sleeps. It's worth noting that Erdogan of Turkey issued a rant that blames Israel for everything that is happening in Egypt (Erdogan supports the Muslim Brotherhood) and everything that is happening in Syria (Erdogan supports the rebels against al-Assad).

No war is imminent at this time between Israel and any other country in the Mid-East. I would go further and say that Israel has benefited from all this Sectarian violence between the Sunni & the Shiites and among the Sunni themselves. It takes the eye of the Muslims off of them and puts it where it really belongs ...... a many centuries war about Islam. The fact of the matter is that the real war in the Mid-East has always been Muslims against Muslims over their version of Islam .... Israel is always a distraction. The Jews are like the Copts and nobody is paying any attention today to the burning and destruction of Copts (Christians who represent about 10% of Egypt) Churches, homes, businesses.
The "story" is all about those wonderful "peaceful Muslim Brotherhood protestors".

Interesting times. Take notes, journal your thoughts, do print outs - your Grandchildren will be interested. I remember the 60's and all that came after very well and kept the news reports and National Geo magazines that documented it.

Well any attack is the start of a potential war. But the chances are pretty remote.

Israel is kind of like the racial situation here in America. When a black person attacks a white person, the liberals are quick to come up with reasons why it wasn't racial, but when a white attacks a black then it's obviously a racist hate crime to them. It's like that with Israel. When Israel is attacked, it is always minimized. But when Israel launches an attack, then they're war criminals. Israel is expected to turn the other cheek when they get attacked. So war is unlikely because it would have to be an absolute slaughter in order for people to consider Israel justified in going to war. And in the event of war Israel has to count on the support of its allies. It is surrounded by radical Muslims and cannot survive without that support.
