This the same tool who stated that it would be a good idea to deploy federal agents to "cognitively infiltrate" political groups that believe in conspiracy theories.

White House Picks Panel to Review NSA Programs

A group of veteran security experts and former White House officials has been selected to conduct a full review of U.S. surveillance programs and other secret government efforts disclosed over recent months, ABC News has learned.

The recent acting head of the CIA, Michael Morell, will be among what President Obama called a "high-level group of outside experts" scrutinizing the controversial programs.

Joining Morell on the panel will be former White House officials Richard Clarke, Cass Sunstein and Peter Swire. An announcement is expected Thursday, a source with knowledge of the matter told ABC News' Jon Karl.
funny and somewhat orwellian calling these career dc insiders "outside experts"

The O bunch is an almost incestuous bunch. They like to keep the power stations right in the inner circle.
Mrs Cass Sunstein is the United States Ambassador to the United Nations - Samantha Power

The irony is that Sam is a big name in atrocity prevention - they call her the Genocide Chick.
She missed the UN Security Council meeting this week about the possible Chem/Bio attack on Syrians.
The dead bodies stack up in Syria, Christian churches are burning in Egypt and Sam Powers is AWOL.

Quote:
Power joined the Obama State Department transition team in late November 2008, and was named Special Assistant to President Obama and Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights on the National Security Council — responsible for running the Office of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights — positions that she held from January 2009 to March 2013. In April 2012, Obama chose her to chair a newly formed Atrocities Prevention Board. During her time in office, Power’s office focused on such issues as the reform of the UN; the promotion of women's rights and LGBT rights; the promotion of religious freedom and the protection of religious minorities; the protection of refugees; the campaign against human trafficking; and the promotion of human rights and democracy, including in the Middle East and North Africa, Sudan, and Burma. She is considered to be a key figure within the Obama administration in persuading the president to intervene militarily in Libya.
Samantha Powers actually joined the Obama Team right after he was elected to the US Senate - she is a long time follower - I wonder how well she is sleeping these days. She used to write about human rights abuse, now she hides from them. I often wonder about her - the Samantha Powers hearing for her confirmation as UN Ambassador were beyond bizarre - she has been making anti-American speeches for years and now she represents us at the most useless organization on Earth. Strange Times.

Power is best known for her efforts to increase public awareness of genocide and human rights abuses, particularly in the Darfur conflict.

She wasn't AWOL, she was on vacation. AWOL is being absent without leave. She had leave. The administration just didn't want to admit it. Poor form for your brand new UN ambassador famous for her human rights work to be off getting a suntan while the UN is discussing chemical weapon attacks. Just like they didn't want to admit the NSA was spying domestically and didn't want to admit AQ attacked the Benghazi embassy.
