Carterstamp, Reaganomics helped the economy (and the people). What you should laugh at is Obamanomics!

I was actually watching a you tube video on Reagan vs Obama. A lot of Obama's "sayings" are literally right out of Reagan's quote book. The whole "my secretary pays more as a % in income tax than I do" is something Reagan actually said.

I learned something new, that's for sure.

I remember hearing the same stories then that we hear now, of guys with graduate degrees driving cabs. The problems continued into the early part of Reagan's first term. In fall 1982, unemployment peaked at 10.8 percent. The peak rate after the 2008 crash was 10.2, in Oct, 2009.

But later it hit me that there was one huge difference. It was a kind of "dog that didn't bark" thing: at least in the reading I did, Reagan never spent time blaming Carter. Instead he focused on his policies, and implicitly seemed to accept that the responsibility for getting the ship out of dangerous waters were now his.
There is one more similarity. Just prior to the 1980 and 2008 elections, both houses of Congress were controlled by Democrats who spent irrationally and irresponsibly.

Really? That's funny considering Obama's resume is superior by a factor of about, oh, a thousand.

That is a good trick considering Osama bin Laden did not even arrive in Afghanistan until 1989, a year after Reagan had left office.

There's a lot of things taken out of context and twisted up in your post. Cite your remarks and you'll put together a more accurate statement and realize how far it falls from the way in which you have currently presented it.
Actually, they didn't. His post was correct and he presented it just fine. Were you even alive when Reagan was President? He never bowed to the dynastic head of any country, never apologized for America, never gave the Queen of England CDs she couldn't play on their system, never fostered racism by calling criminals his possible children, etc.

There's no comparison. Reagan fostered pride in America after the malaise of the Carter years. Obama has just set us back and fostered our divisions.

Right, wrong or indifferent, I'll take a Reagan any day over an Obama. I want a president who believes in America.

If never having had a real job and voting "present" instead of taking a stance is the stuff of a good resume then you have a real displaced sense of success.
