The "Stand your Ground" law wasn't used by the prosecution because Trayvon wasn't a threat to Zimmermann.
No, SYG was not used because it addresses the (lack of) duty to flee. According to Zimmerman's account, he was on his back, having his head bashed against the sidewalk, so there was no opportunity for Zimmerman to flee. So SYG was entirely irrelevant.
The jury decided it happened. That means it happened.
So it no longer matters whether the attack is "in evidence" or not.
It happened.
Get over it.
Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, Zimmerman was justly in fear for his life, Zimmerman defended himself.
And the jury agreed.
Pure garbage. That attack occurred only in the minds of those with right wing disease.
And there never was any requirement that Martin hit Zimmerman for the decision to be reached.
If Martin hit Zimmerman or Zimmerman hit Martin it made no difference. Martin was winning and that is all it took to justify the shooting.
YOu right wingers can't seem to get it through your head...as written the law requires that you fear harm or death. It does not care who was the aggressor.

As it is in every case where it's justified.
There is no reason for a SYG law. When it's necessary to kill someone, you're protected under self-defense. When it's unnecessary to kill someone, you should HAVE to retreat. You shouldn't be free to pick between escaping v killing.
That's like giving cops the freedom to choose to arrest or shoot someone.

If you attack a cop, that's exactly the choice the cop should have.
Don't like it? Don't attack a cop.
And it's the same choice any law-abiding citizen should have, when someone attacks them.
Don't like it? Don't attack the citizen.
