We have the largest Veterans program in the world. We spend 150 billion annually or more than $7,000 per veteran. Our Medicare program spends about $550 billion annually or about $10,000 per senior recipient. By the way most of the people in these two socialist programs vote Republican.

On a side note, if you're using either Windows or MAC OS, you might want to thank an American.
The first electronic programmable computer was the Colossus, which was invented by Tommy Flowers, who was British.

The first computer of any sort was invented by Charles Babbage, also British.

Well, America saved the world from domination by the Nazis. Then it saved the world from domination by the Soviets. It put a man on the moon. It was the first constitutional republic on the planet. It provides far and way more aid around the world than any other nation. It has produced more nobel prize winners than any other nation. It was the first nation to declare that human beings have inherent inalienable rights. It has produced a gigantic body of cinema, music, and literature enjoyed by people all over the world. It has produced more scientific progress than any other country. It has produced more medical breakthroughs than any other nation.

Liberal white guilt aside, America has done more good than any other civilization in the history of mankind.

Colossus went live in 1943. Zuse's Z3 went live in 1941. History disagrees with you.

Babbage's computer was not programmable, which was the criteria in your post which I quoted when I mentioned Zuse.

Interesting. What that says about Republicans then is that they work for a living and are patriotic enough to serve in the Armed Forces. Are you saying that Democrats do not and are not? As for other people's money, here's something you may not be aware of, perhaps because you don't work. Working people pay into SS and Medicare. You're likely a Democrat so you ought to already know that collectively, they've never seen a penny of other peoples money they didn't want and couldn't spend or a tax they didn't want to increase.

You might want to stop and think....well....try hard to, before you make outlandish, nonsensical statements. That way you run less risk of sounding like a cretin.

The U.S. can brag about the fact that it is one of the most diverse Western countries and about the fact that it was historically one of the earliest (genuine) democratic republics out there (and which continuously survived to the present day).

These are programs they paid for or earned, it's not a handout like welfare where you only need to exist to get a benefit. Anyone of those benefits requires you put something into the system to get something out whether it's taxes or time served in the military.

At what point in time were these people given a choice to participate in this program? They paid for it their entire lives and now you expect them to not collect on the benefits they were promised?

That is what I always sort of thought.... America is a leader in terms of technology and things of the like.......

I do wonder about the stats in terms of money and quality of life... I wonder if the big corporations here have a little too much leeway... IDK... I'm open to analyzing the subject... a lot of people are dye in the wool either way... I'd like to see a real conversation on American quality of life and how much wealth we have as a people and how much wealth the corporations have........

IDK... again... I'm open to companies making money... I just wonder about Reagan's trickle down economics model.....

I wonder if it really is trickling down.... it's starting to seem like the wealth gap is getting much larger than it should be....

Studies show that over the last 40 yrs salaries have stagnated and the wealthy are getting much more wealthy.....

On the backs of who???????
