Still not a liberal thing ... it's still the old "personal responsibility or die" meme that belongs to the right.

But keep trying.

Oh, that's just another tactic ... there is only class warfare that exists ... the racism and sexism and gender-ism and sexual orientation-ism and ethnic-ism is just a means to stir the pot and get the sheep to fight amongst themselves, rather than realize who their real enemy is.

Old people with asthma who don't like walking through a cloud of smoke when they go outside.

Smart people, yes.

Nobody would think to invent smoking today if it wasn't already a thing. It would be a class 1 controlled substance and people would be screaming about the children and whatnot.

Oh how brilliant ... why is this man outside creating a cloud of smoke that others have to pass through to begin with? Oh yes ... the nitwits that say he has to go outside, and not allowed to smoke inside his apartment. I swear it's like talking to a rotating wall with you people ....

Oh yes ... the "new smart". One look around will show you the results of the "new smart", which ain't so smart looking if you're eyes are open.

I have noticed that whenever someone starts to "rant" about an issue, they seem to loose a logical flow to their communication, and it becomes near impossible to weed through the rant to get to what they are trying to actually present.

Bottom line this topic is pretty simple:

FACT: Cigarette smoke can waft from one dwelling to an adjacent dwelling.

FACT: The smell of the cigarette smoke can provoke an asthma attack or an aggravation of COPD.

FACT: Everyone has the right to a safe and healthy living environment, and non-smokers have that right too.

RESULT: Since cigarette smoke can bother others, it is the smokers' responsibility to NOT let their smoke affect others. Even a 90 year old vet does not have the "right" to inflict health problems on others.

SOLUTION: E-cigs for indoors or when near other dwellings.

If it is any consolation, I believe all drugs should be legal.

Yes, that includes heroin. So this talk about how smoking would be illegal if it were illegal means dick to me.

Also, since the War on Drugs is such a dismal failure the outlawing of tobacco would probably make it more popular in both usage and public appeal. All the hippies could whine that a plant that was used by Native Americans as religious sacrament, grown by several of the Founding Fathers, used by countless intellectuals, and the profits of which have been used to finance countless useful endeavors has been banned by a bunch of moral puritans and corporate interests.

I do actually have to give the anti-smoking movement a lot of credit.

They have managed to form one of the most effective and pervasive propaganda networks of all time. Although much of their success is due to the fact that the tobacco companies were so insanely sleazy that they managed to kill their credibility faster than lung cancer and that smokers are for the most part apathetic.
