It also clear that Obama badly misplayed this issue. He wanted to act tough by creating the red line threat. I suppose he hoped his threat would be taken seriously. But of course it didn't work and now he feels pressed to act. He really doesn't want to do anything.

It is seriously disappointing that our intelligence people DON'T KNOW if chemical weapons were used and by whom.
The American media have colluded to shield Americans from the rest of the world's contempt for Obama.

Bush was able to assemble coalitions numbering into double digits, Obama is left with France, which used to run Syria as a League of Nations mandate. The last time the U.S. got itself involved in a former French colonial outpost it turned into the Vietnam War, not the best omen.
